Godzilla in Hell #4 reaction thread

I just picked this up yesterday. Its interesting because Destroyah and Ghidorah team up to fight Godzilla (who is now GMK Godzilla) There were some cool shots in the comic and Godzilla was truly a beast however I think this was the weakest comic of this series. Again, with no dialogue, this was a brief read. I found most of the art work to be very mediocre. I'm a little disappointed, especially after last months spectacular issue.

The art was a bit hit-and-miss, with mediocre and interesting panels interspersed... but it was really cool to see the GMK used, seeing as how the Heisei and Millennium designs have become the de facto licensed Godzillas.

Agreed. That was the high point for me. GMK Godzilla looks evil. Heisei Ghidorah and Destroyah both looked evil as well so it was nice to see these three terrifying monsters go at it, and GMK Goji was a beast!

i thought the artist did a couple neat things with having Ghidorah looking for Godzilla and each head was looking different places.. Its something you dont see as often as you should with Ghidorah.

To each their own, but with all due respect, Issue #3's artwork was some of the worst that I've seen in a G comic since the KOM-Hester/Santos days...Moody's art was just downright awful.Image

I haven't read issue #4 yet, so I cannot agree/disagree if it's a bad one or not, but from what little of the artwork I've seen from previews, the artwork, while not on par with the likes of Frank/Zornow/Stokoe/Watcher, is still miles ahead of Moody's scribbles (and don't even get me started on Ulises Farinas' tracing...er, I mean "cover art" for Issue #3's incentive cover).

Additionally, how many times do we have see SpaceGodzilla (and Destroyah) in these books? This isn't merely directed at Godzilla in Hell, but at IDW's books in general. Good Lord, please give these two fat, immobile, beam out every orifice kaiju a rest already and give us some more under-utilized kaiju (Paging Megalon)...

This issue definitely grew on me after its first read through. I missed a lot of the nuance the first time through
