Like, I'm trying to keep my cool and tell myself it might just be an early April Fool's joke, but that concept is so impossibly metal. I may not even wait for the TPB like I usually do. I have to know how it is.

I'm totally giddy over this, more so than I would have expected. It's just so completely out of left field, I can't help but anticipate an absolutely crazy-fun ride.

I'd like to see some Showa designs. :/ I don't think we've ever gotten and outright Showa look. (Except on covers)

My preference for comics would be that they let each artist do whatever design they come up with within Toho guidelines (upright, bipedal, dorsal fins, etc).. it would give us some variety aside from the heisei and millennium movie specific designs we're starting to see repeated. ... but that's probably not even an option.

There have been plenty of monsters featured with Showa designs in IDW's comics. Anguirus, Gigan, Rodan, Hedorah, Mechagodzilla, King Seesar... just not Godzilla or King Ghidorah, which I agree is annoying. I'd like to see Shodaigoji tussle with other monsters.

I'm glad James Stokoe is involved again but it would be nice to see something other than Mire/Gira/Kiryugoji after Rulers of Earth, Cataclysm, and The Half-Century War all featured that same basic look. This new mini-series would have been the perfect opportunity to use Godzilla's GMK design.

Is it Toho's mandate that they have to use the KiryuGoji design? I seem to recall reading something to that effect, but maybe it was just fan speculation. I could go for some variety either way.

Gotcha. I completely forgot about the previous ongoing, since I read the first two TPBs and never touched it again. (Not to mention its one cover featuring the GMK Godzilla, but I digress.) I'd pay good money to see the KingGoji design in the comics, among others.

I'd also love to see Toho come out with a 200-page document about what comics creators are actually allowed to do. I'd read the whole stupid thing.

I didnt think much of it at the time since Wachter had done Godzilla work before he got the ongoing issue and Cataclysm.. but he put this image up a couple days before the Godzilla in Hell announcement which he is apparently part of. Wonder if thats the design he'll be using or if its just another random G pic

It's kind of Heisei but the head reminds me of the Final Wars suit a bit.

Godzilla is being send to Hell, because of his previous attacks on us humans.

Anyone know how to get the version with the EC-style cover? Subscription variant I think? Does that mean you subscribe to the entire series through your local store, or through IDW?
