Sadly, there isn't much to choose from when it comes to "quality" English books on Godzilla.
My personal top 5:
1. Japan's Favorite Mon-star - S. Ryfle.
2. Illustrated Encyclopedia of G (I don't care if it's not an official publication, I'm including it). Ed Godz.
3. Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters - A. Ragone
4. Age of the Gods (see #2) - Guy Tucker
5. Godzilla Compendium - It's harmless, not near as bad as people say.
6: Honorable mention: Any Japanese Giants issue, which I sometimes consider "books" in their own right.
I haven't read Armand's travel guide (I might pick it up in Japan since he said some Japanese book stores in Tokyo are now carrying it.), Kalat's 2nd ed. (sounds like it's worth checking out), or Peter Brother's Honda book (though I am not a fan of Brother's articles in G fan, so I'm not too inclined to pick that one up at this time), so I can't comment on these books. I've only skimmed Monsters Are Attacking Tokyo a long time ago, so can't comment on it either.
I wish my kanji skills were better...there are soooo many great Godzilla books in Japan that have mountains of information waiting to be translated...I think Western G literature has barely scratched the surface...
