So I've been reading a back issue from 2015 that I purchased after stumbling upon it at a random comic shop recently. It's been a fun time killer on business trips. But then there's this one article... it's possibly the most incoherent, rambling, non-sensical thing I've ever seen in print. I have no idea what the heck the author is trying to say. It's like he thinks he's writing for a peer reviewed scientific journal, but totally forgot that you need an introduction to explain the point you're going to make. He just starts right into rambling on and on, using all this high-sounding (but probably meaningless) jargon. Why on earth would you publish something like this? It's not even an article. It's like this guy just wrote down rambling notes for ideas he had that might make an interesting article and then never refined them into something that's actually digestible by the reader.

I don't know, what do you guys think? Here's the first two pages:

That article is incomprehensible, I googled the writer's name and apparently he is an artist and writer and I kind of want to check out one of his books to see if his professional writing is just as bad.

He wrote a book recently called Dinosaurs Ever Evolving: The Changing Face of Prehistoric Animals in Pop Culture. The whole book is similar to that article. It’s really tough to get through but he makes some good points if you re read each page a few times lol

Huh; I have two of this author's books - Dinosaurs in Fantastic Fiction and Prehistoric Monsters* - and I recall them being more coherent than this article (although, I think I'm getting the gist of it, briefly skimming through).

*Actually, this book had a pretty cool chapter discussing how Godzilla is essentially the iconic dinosaur of media/pop culture.
