So , i'm sure it will get its own thread soon, but has anyone heard, or have any speculation as to general merchandising for the Godzilla KotM film? I mean 2014 Godzilla had a mish-mash of toys found at Toys R Us from Bandai and Duclos, and some other manufacturers as well. Kong Skull island AND Rampage had exclusive deals with Land Toys (LT) amd Walmart. Those toys were...less than inspiring to say the least.

I mean, It may be my *nostalgia glasses* but, I was in my early 20's when the Trendmasters line came out in the mid 90's. Although not tied to a particular film, I thought the toys were pretty good for general release, at a variety of scales and price points. Sure lines like SH Monsterarts and NECA have pretty amazing toys for adult collectors, but I'm more concerned about getting a decent line for the *every man*. Some toy company should go all-out on this film. Dont even worry about creating human action figs. Just get all the monsters right, and they will hopefully sell well. I just don't want to see a ton of shoddy clearance priced Godzilla Merch at walmart this time next year.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

NECA is doing all four monsters and Jakks (who made the enormous Godzilla '14) is also doing something.

Who or what is Duclos?

You bring up a good point about a general toyline, though. NECA did their 2014 figures alongside the Bandai stuff, so who might have the license, if any, to such a toyline this time around? Toy Fair in February will hopefully clear that up.

I just assumed Duclos was the company that made the giant 40 inch Godzilla in 2014, because that was the first name that came up when I did a google search. But when I put in Jakks Pacific, I get the same toy, but in different packaging... :?

In any case, yes thank you for reminding me about Toy Fare in February. Here's to *hoping* KotM gets a decent toy series distributor for the average kid/adult/fan 8)

Hmm, my google-fu indicates Duclos is a Canadian toy store. Jakks Pacific is the manufacturer of the giant Godzilla.
