I've been really tempted by this line. With only 200 pieces of each produced I'd have to preorder. That G'64 is calling me...

I've always loved the Marusan/Bullmark/Marmit toys... never actually had any, but I think they're the coolest Godzilla toys. They have that fun, classic toy feel - but at the same time look like appropriate retro kitsch home decor.
I've been a casual kaiju toy collector for, well, I suppose my whole life, and I've never accomplished my (rather simple) dream: to have a small set of just my favorite kaiju in a similar style and scale and based on my preferred versions of those characters (I have a Heisei Ghidorah and FW Rodan Bandais just to have those characters, even though they aren't my favorite depictions). I wonder if I wait a while this line will offer my dream lineup:
- Two Showa Godzillas
- Showa Rodan
- Showa Angilas
- Showa Mothra
- Showa King Ghidorah
- Showa Mechagodzilla
If I had these I'd probably get rid of the majority of the rest of my collection!

I feel the same way if a DAM set were available.

^ The $60 - $80 range of the current Medicom line is pretty much a high as I'm willing to go.

Marmit Para Baby for all your choices, except maybe the Showa Godzillas

Would've preferred a blue, because MH has me covered on a stylized green Gigan, but I thought we weren't getting the Sofubi Life reissue in the US line. That's gonna be tempting!

I've bit the bullet with Medicom. Just ordered Godzilla '64 and Rodan '56. These guys:
Two of my favorite kaiju based on my favorite suit designs for both! My next priorities are Anguirus, Mothra, and Ghidorah.
Vaguer, eventual priorities: another Showa Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, and perhaps a Gamera of a similar make.

For what it's worth, Medicom is just the distributor. That Godzilla is from Marmit (the Monster Heaven line). The Rodan is from the modern Marusan, I believe. Both look very nice.

^They're exactly the right balance between movie accurate and exaggerated toy!

Agreed. I just started collecting marmits/CCPs/Bullmark etc recently because of how cool and stylized they are while maintaining just enough movie accuracy to make me happy.

The other day Mrs Klen7 said "You know when you started collecting [stylized figures] i didn't get it but now i see that there is an artistry to them that makes them really cool. What i am trying to say is that i get it now"

I've gotten considerably closer to my dream collection in the last few months!
Got the Marusan black Godzilla '62 for Christmas. Just got the Medicom Showa King Ghidorah and Mothra (from Marusan and Bullmark).
I live 'em to bits. KG especially is a huge, beautiful toy!
Now all I need is Angilas and MechaG... and maybe a Gamera (the Marusan one I see around fits the bill)... and those new Ultra Big figures are to scale with these, right?

The local Moviestop is closing and is having a crazy sell on it's movies and collectables. This shop was pretty important to me when it opened over ten years ago, so I made one final big purchase (albeit 30% off):
Not my favorite kaiju film, of course, but I dig the color and it was the second Godzilla film I ever saw!

I know I'm getting the Medicom distributed Anguirus (Marusan?) and Hedorah in his first land form (I think Bear Model) for Christmas. I'm pretty excited about it.
Would be cool to see Marmit/Marusan/Bullmark takes on Shin or the Legendary Godzilla.

Thing about those cardboard tags that seal the bags for Marusan/Bullmark/Marmit figures: anyone else use them as bookmarks?

They all have the Monster names in kana printed on them. At least all the Marmit and Gigabrain ones do. I got a cool little book that made it really easy to learn kana. Or you could probably find an easy tutorial online. It's really not hard to learn.
