it seems to me, that the neck isn't static like we are perceiving. When I magnify the pic that I posted earlier today (that is a larger size pic), I can see that the last neck line at the base of the neck goes all the way around to the back spine. I see this when magnified at 200% and 400%. At 800% it is too pixelated to determine, but 400% is ideal. It may be like the standard Bandai vinyl for Godzilla 90s that turns at the base of the neck. If the figure has 30 points of articulation, so far I can only tell that I see about 21 points at 200% magnification. The feet have seemingly the ability to turn as there is a seam there similar to what I see in the neck.

One thing NECA should do is have a poll about upcoming characters desired by the fandom.

I think it looks pretty cool. Maybe not 100% as accurate as the MA, but it has a certain style to it that I dig that makes Godzilla look pretty badass.
NECA usually has been a decent company for toy releases. Sometimes the build quality isn't that great, but hey, they're toys.

Me likey! Though I don't dig the green/blue color scheme. Looks like these might be a more affordable alternative to the SHMA figures (even if they're less fancy).

I've put a pause on getting all of the SH MA figures because of this announcement. That Godzilla looks tremendous for a fraction of the price. If they do other kaiju for a mere $20, call me officially jumping ship.

Call me jaded or just a MonsterArts Bandai fanboy, but honestly this sculpt and the articulation is not doing it for me. I mean look at that face and try telling me that's actually screen accurate to the suit used in Spacegodzilla? Uh....no! Plus what's the deal with the shiny skin texture and blue-ish hued paint? MonsterArts way better for preserving the screenaccurateness. LOL not a word. But meh. If anything since Bandai hasn't done a Godzilla 1984 in ages, I'm more interested in seeing whether NECA can do justice for that Godzilla suit.

I'm not sure if its because i grew up with Imperial Godzilla (followed much later by Trendmasters) that even figures like this look fine to me, but it does seem like collectors are generally jaded. It's not just here and the 2014 thread, but even in the SHMA and X-Plus threads. I think it's a good time to be a collector, and its nice to see availability getting easier and not having to pay a premium at convention to someone with a middle man in Japan.

The NECA figure isnt perfect, but at least from the promo shots, i do prefer the articulation decisions made better than some of the SHMA figures we have gotten and i like the legs on the sculpt. I am interested to see what the final paint will look like when its in hand and not a promo on a white background. So at a 1/3 of the cost of a SHMA, i'm not ready to rule out this line based on the first promo shots of the first figure.

I've only purchased two SHMA figures and sent one (Burning G) back because of the ridiculous crotch gaps and the fact that it was falling apart in the box. I held onto the other one because it was a show exclusive. I *LOVE* Burning Godzilla, but I could not keep that thing (and "fixing" the gaps my smooshing the legs around a bit just didn't satisfy me). I know that was talked about a lot at the time and I don't want to beat a dead horse, but those gaps are ridiculous and I could not consider that a good looking figure regardless of how otherwise accurate the sculpt may have been.

I've been somewhat tempted by Biollante but not at that price.

At $20-ish, I'll buy the neca fig, and hope they make a bunch of Godzilla's opponents, particularly showa.

The biggest problem I'm seeing with the NECA '94 besides the head sculpt is that the thighs look to have a gap similar to Ultra-Act Red King's. Hopefully that's not the case for those who want it, because Red King's legs were atrocious and unforgivable in the same line as Gomora, Eleking, and Golza. Could very well be the gap is a result of being a prototype or posed awkwardly in that first shot, since the legs look flush otherwise.

it seems like they refined the neck a little more from the last showing. That is a plus. Though sachiel from what you are saying about the bluish color, the MA version is bluish too in some pics. I think that all white background is making it look unfavorable. They should have used another background. At that price point, that is way better than the rehashed and constant reissues of Bandai vinyls. You get way more articulation as well, and better sculpting. If the figure holds up well like what Pacific Rim kaiju have, it should be a great thing in the fandom.
