The only problem with that is how big the demand will be. If it's what I think, there might not be a excess left.

I didn't realize the big Knifehead would be this much. HRMMMM
I was considering an X-Plus Varan, but...maybe I'll just get this thing.

The first picture doesn't look like it has as much articulation as the second one, look at the hands and fingers. I wonder which one is a more accuracte picture.

Honestly, I'm probably not going to pick this one up. I only grabbed the regular Knifehead because Think Geek had it on sale for $11 and change after shipping. If they come out with a MonsterArts, I might be more inclined.

I went ahead and pre-ordered it, I'll cancel if it ends up looking awful.

Because it's the 7" figure.

BBTS wrote:Note - Item pictured is of the 7" figure and is for representation only.

The second picture is one of a couple images NECA tweeted to show off the prototype for the 18" Knifehead. I think it also reflects what the toyline could have looked like from the beginning had it always been intended for collectors and not the last-minute switch from kiddie figures that we got in the first two series.

I've also preordered Knifehead, since BBTS makes it so easy to cancel and because of the crazy way the 18" Gipsy has been selling so far. Better safe than sorry.

MUCH better than Knifehead, and MUCH bigger and heftier. I just wish he could look down. I hope this line continues
enough for us to get something like Otachi or Raiju. (CRAZY WISHFUL THINKING)

I went on an impulse hunt for Leatherback and Striker yesterday but came up dry. I want them, but I'm not going to pay the going scalp price.

And I knew Leatherback would be bigger than Knifehead, but I didn't expect THAT much bigger. Wow.

The retooled Knifehead is beautiful. A damn shame we didn't get that first. But we're getting it now, so it's all good. Too bad they didn't show the sculpts of Cherno Alpha and Coyote Tango.

Here's another image showing the difference in height with the old Knifehead.

I'm not really digging the battle damage on Knifehead...the goo doesn't look right to me

The goo is a little excessive, but I think you get a better sense of the glowy blue color that way. I'm not a HUGE fan of the battle damage, but I'd really like a Knifehead closer to Leatherback and the upcoming Trespasser. Plus Knifehead is one of the designs from the film that I 100% adore.

I hope they make a variant without the battle damage. Maybe in another two pack down the line.

As for Otachi....I'm thinking the circumstances have changed for her.

When NECA revealed the new Knifehead and Trespasser, they gave us into about where the line was going.

They said that scale is important to them, and want to make the kaiju as big as humanely possible. This is why the kaijubwill be in their own assortment now, as deluxe figures. They also said that there are TWO, count em, TWO more kaiju in the works.

I think Otachi is coming.

Oh, I hadn't read about there being another kaiju.
Yeah, I think Otachi would be a safe bet as long as this wave sells well.
What about the other?
Slattern? A Scunner could be made pretty easily by retooling the Tresspasser/Knifehead mold.

Scunner is definitely more possible than ever because of the retooled body, that's for sure. But I'm hoping they take advantage of their commitment to scale now, and try to go above and beyond. Give us Onibaba or Raiju. Or better yet...Slattern...They still have a rich selection of Kaiju. I hope they go with making all new figures.

I'd love an Onibaba, if only to put out a Kaiju a little different looking from the other reptilian guys.

I swear they've said that Slattern is too big for them to produce on this line, and with them having increased the size of the Kaiju it might be even more of an issue.

But damn would it be awesome if they did make Slattern.

I just hope those last 2 aren't any type of retools, Scunner be damned. I love that kaiju, but his resemblance to Knifehead and Trespasser have lessened my want for him.

The two figures (that we know of coming after series 3) could very well be the end of the series. Depending on sales I guess. If they are, I want all new stuff.

I don't really like Scunner at all. I don't know why, it may be that he's just a retool of the Tresspasser/Knifehead body or whatever or that he doesn't really get to do anything.

I actually love his face design, minus the eyes. When I first saw him I didn't notice his eyes till much later (I have bad eye sight, lol). If he didn't have any eyes, it'd make the design near perfect.

I think if he didn't have eyes, I'd like it a lot more myself.
