Just to start things out, and to guage interest, and sizes/ variability of everyone's collections I thought we can start with the first iteration of the Big G and then go from there.

I'll post pics of my 30cm X Plus later :)

Perfect starting point. (a little jealous i didnt think of it...)

I have 4 or 5 figures for this thread assuming no one beats me to them.. but lets start small...

I'll post my only G54 figure. I think this was put out by Bandai in 2000. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I used the universal Gesura measurement system for scale comparison.

Eabaker. Word man. Just f'n word all the way up to word town. You just bought a cheeseburger man, would you like some word with that?

Lol.

Though I am partial to the 62 design too but that's really a different character. I've never had a problem with 2 different Godzillas. The 2nd Godzilla, to me, the one that's in the rest of the films, well that one is personified by the 62 suit to me. Character wise though, that version of Godzilla is pretty much Red King from Ultraman. Not a problem though as Red King is one of my favorite kaiju ever.

I never put together a group shot of my 1954 Godzillas. I don't really have too many of them honestly.

But here's some Marmit love...

I was a little bummed at first because I didn't think I had a 54 in my collection. I think I'm wrong.

Figure: First Godzilla
Series: Bandai Creations Wave 5
Size: 6.5"

I don't know for certain if this was ever officially called "54" anywhere on the cardboard. The only pic I could find was the card back where they called it "First Godzilla", but everyone everywhere on the sites I google call it a 54. So here it is. :)

To be honest, I never really cared for the head of the original suit, which is why I like this figure because it takes some liberties there. To me it feels like a blend of the normal suit face and the puppet face. I also love how bulky this figure looks and the sculpt and detail of the dorsal spines.

I remember when I bought this at the store. I meticulously went over the paint apps on every figure they had on the shelf only to bring the figure home and find that the tail had been glued on wrong, leaving a huge sloppy gap in the bottom of the sculpt, which was the one part of the figure I couldn't see at the store. I bought a second one which has very tiny misalignment in the same section. Makes me wonder if they had problems with gluing the tail on with the entire run. Although I wonder if this was planned to be a point of articulation? On that point, its articulated in the typical Bandai places, but doing so really knocks the suit appearance out of symmetrical alignment.

Also my Criterion Godzilla arrived yesterday, so it makes for an appropriate backdrop.....along with the tree. :)

The original 1999 release Bandai 6" 1954 Godzilla, for reference with the BC figure posted above.

Regarding the different BC '54 Godzillas: I'll at least give the first release credit for trying to look like the Japanese Bandai. The details are soft, but it looks just fine. Oh, it's not in the same league at the original but it's not a terrible figure. The second release (and no offense to ALPHA OTS) is a disgustingly lumpy looking thing that strays way too far from the look of the monster suit to appeal to me at all.

Oh, and speaking of lumpy...

This fellow currently lives on one of my speakers at work (the Banpresto version stands atop the other speaker).

I don't actually know what company produced this, but I have '62, '64, and '89 figures in the same line, and they're all among my favorites.

Actually, can anybody tell me what line this is?

I'm loving this thread idea. And I'd say you couldn't choose a more appropriate monster to start things off.

First up for me is a Toygraph Godzilla eating a train and with a sculpt based on the original maquette. He's a custom color scheme made special for Monster's Lab, a kaiju toy shop in the Akihabara district of Tokyo. I bought him on my first (& so far, only) trip to Japan in '08. Ah, memories!

Up next is another purchase I made at Monster's Lab. It's a candy toy depicting the scene of Godzilla's very first entrance ever, peering over the mountain top. I find it appealing b/c it's based on the hand puppet, something I don't think is very common in the toy world.

And last but not least, a little superdeformed G'54 holding an F-86 Saberjet!
