FW Gigan

I do like the mouth better on the new Gamera sculpt. I have my Legion preorder in... a little scared of the size for it.

So these are those small polystone figures announced a while back? But they changed them to vinyl instead? That's actually a relief as I was interested in them but was fearful of breakage with such a brittle material. Vinyl is far more resilient.

How much are they (Japanese retail and actual price for us here in the US)? Looks like they're the exact same sculpts as the big ones (awesome!) but sounds like they're way over priced (boo!). Are they solid or hollow vinyl?

Yipes! $49 for a 3 inch figure? That's beyond over priced IMO... Even $49 for the set would seem on the higher end of acceptable.

They are closer to 4" than 3. The G'54 sits at 4ish with G'2k4 sitting a tad bit shorter. But yeh... Overpriced

That's the original retail, but I haven't seen them (online) for less than $160 for the set.

New Gigan 2004 up for pre-order:
https://www.ric-toy.ne.jp/item_gigan200 ... kidou.html

Pretty cool mummification style paint app. Light up gimmick for the eyes too.

New 30cm Godzilla 1984 as well with light up dorsal plates gimmick:
https://www.ric-toy.ne.jp/item_godzilla ... njuku.html

I have a feeling the dorsal plates will light up blue on this bad ass. Tempting even though I have the original release from 2013.

Seriously, it looks like sh*t.

So, let me get this straight....for years, we cannot get a 25cm Gabara figure if our collecting lives depended on it, but yet this "thing" sees the light of day....

The Eva crossover figures aren't really my cup of tea either. Easy skip for me.

She is a lot wider than I expected. A lot of articulation (the front legs, all the face legs, the mouth-beak) - Shipped in one piece like Leatherback, so no assembly required. The vinyl still had a strong smell like (but not as much as Gigantic Desugoji). Awesome figure. I'll try to get a picture of the 25cm Gamera 96 next to it later.

Such a great month for X-Plus. Both Legion and Kamacuras are solid releases. Now to find spots on the shelves for them.

I really like the Knifehead sculpt (more than the Neca or Sideshow) but why does it have to be so much bigger than Leatherback?

X-Plus has apparently tweaked their Goji/Eva figure -
The head is now split with the helmet cracked in in half revealing a more Godzilla-like face and a different color eye (early prototype here). The armor also looks to have been retouched and is now more accurate to Eva Unit-01.

Bandai provides a little backstory but the translation is rough, basically Unit-01 is damaged and subsequently becomes contaminated with mutated G cells creating this monstrosity. This thing is "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" gnarly.

In 2014 I had 1 X-Plus, 2015 I got another, 2016 I ended up with 4 regular releases and the GMK Gigantic.
Thankfully I don't feel as compelled to track down these others.

I'm too tired from work to post a full review now....in a nut shell, the elusive Gabara figure was well worth the wait, and I dig the Minilla to boot. As far as Keizer Ghidorah, I've got some issues with (namely with the wings) that I'll address in more detail when I'm not dead tired)...nighty night folks :g64:

Love that Gabara! Would have liked to have got one, but unfortunately, by the time I saw it on Hobby Link Japan, it already had an order stop. Definitely gives me something to keep an eye out for though...

Xplus 25cm Godzilla 2004 arrived today, and it's pretty darn cool (I think this sculpt is better & more dynamic than the Xplus 30cm G2004):

In this final photo, you can see that the Xplus 25cm Keizer Ghidorah is, although a rather big figure in general, is actually a bit undersized in relationship to this G 04 figure (as well as other figures of this line), when it should ideally be another 2-3 inches or so taller and tower over Godzilla. My Gigabrain Showa King Ghidorah figure is much bigger and more impressive overall than the Xplus 25cm Keizer Ghidorah, so it's one of the more disappointed Xplus figures in my collection thus far. Still, it's a pretty decent figure, but not for its price tag.

Please let there be a G91 25cm figure soon (without a f*cking stand  )
