Then they really ought to do something about that Rodan. But since they just re-released it, it's probably the version we're stuck with.

Baragon is amazing.

Absolutely. They were really committed to NAILING the 1968 Baragon. But that's why using a 1964 Rodan in a DAM display is going to bother me. They worked so hard to get Baragon, Manda, Mothra and Varan as exact as possible that the Rodan really stands out.

Yep. I am still on board with a flying Rodan for the set. If they are going for the look of the group photo, a flying Rodan is ideal. Super far fetched but a flying KG would do serious justice but I could only imagine how hard that would be.

Baragon is amazing. I really love this standing version over the 1965 standing version that came out in 2013. I posted some comparison shots here: http://freshvinylhq.com/x-plus-baragon-comparisons/

As for the shipping ordeal with HLJ, yea the shipping is crazy with FedEx. I bought the GGMK with them and they wanted like $160 for shipping or something like that. You have to get in touch with them and tell them you want it shipped EMS. I haven't used HLJ in a while but I am pretty sure there is an option to request EMS over FedEx, which is set by default at check out. I could be wrong. Its been a while.

Yeah, I think we both definitely agree in regards to this set...I would love to see this particular Baragon sold individually, as I think the high price tag resulting from being saddled with the puny Varan (The Xplus 25cm or Marmit MH Varan figures are far better alternatives imho) will turn off many collectors, which is a shame as the Baragon figure itself is terrific. That sucks you and others often get hosed on shipping, and admittedly the only reason I've gotten into the Xplus collecting scene recently (albeit rather late  ) is solely because I live in Japan and don't get saddled with these charges.

By the way, I want to thank you for posting Xplus / Gigabrain reviews as I think any collector would find them informative and helpful. Image I've been posting some of your youtube reviews on the TK forum "Monster Spotlight Threads" along with my own collection photos to hopefully help educate most of the posters over there that there are indeed great Godzilla figures beyond just the SHMA/NECA lines. Hope to see some more Marmit MH reviews someday as well... ;)

Very cool! Thank you for sharing. I think I only did one or two Gigabrain reviews, King Ghidorah and Blood Spray Gigan? But Thank you for sharing! FRESH. And that is awesome you live in Japan and you are able to collect with some ease to avoid crazy fees. HLJ has been the only retailer with stupid shipping methods and prices. EMS is very affordable when using Hobby Search and Amiami.

the parts all connect with magnets like the recent Chikyu Boegiun releases...
it is beautiful...

Every bit as good as Destoroyah. So detailed.

I had preordered the Ric version of the G54 weeks ago, but at that point they hadn't announced a standard version... If I had known about the standard I'd have waited and saved money because I don't really need the base.

Yeah, the Ric comes close to $400 with shipping included. Standard is around $140. Is the base really an extra $150? Wow. I never even saw the sculpt until recently through the preorders.

I literally had to slap my hand away from my mouse from buying that G'54. I want it but I really need to save my money for the home theater I'm trying to build in the basement.

God Damnit.

Yeah, must be the retooling. They said the jaw might be hinged to open and close so it might be that.

Got my Sakai GMK Godzilla.

I've long said that the 25cm GMK is vastly superior to the 30cm counterpart, so lots see how the 25cm stacks up against the Sakai. We know the Sakai figures are smaller than the standard 30cm figures, but the heights are surprisingly close... Looking at the two next to each other i prefer the head on the 25cm sculpt, but the tail on the Sakai (despite a non-descript stand to keep the tail up and the figure balanced). Both of them blow away the 30cm sculpt.

anyway here it is next to the 25 cm

Those are two of my favoritest figures. So glad they got a reissue. The original ric-version of Megalon has an alternative set of arms

Nice collection ebirah, I wish I had that beautifull Megalon.

Now I'm on the fence about buying the new 1954 train in mouth release.
Anyboby got it yet ?

I'm also still debating on Titanausorus and Kiryu Diamond release.

I skipped both last time around, and now have preorders for them. I wouldn't recommend skipping Titano if you are on the fence.

Leatherback is up for order, and costs as much as a 30cm. 18000 yen. No light up gimmick mentioned.

Also, Ric boy Jet Jaguar 25cm with light up eyes.
