No it's not. But it's a Mothra larva, it has never changed outside of eye color.

Except that
1) It's literally a repaint of the previously-released Heisei Mothra larve and
2) the description states that they're both the 1992 versions, with the Mothra adult featuring a "night colored" repaint, and the larva repainted to emulate it in the water.

But yeah,

, so they do all basically look the same.

Except the description has already stated it is the 92 one. It's not like the Larvas have really changed that much regardless.

Hey guys, guess what was revealed last night?

If you said anything other than Heisei Godzilla repaint, then you are wrong.

Over on reddit some one posted this.

Not sure if it's legit or not.

I went looking and found it originated from this twitter account.

Still not sure if it's an actual figure or just a fan made creation.

EDIT:

And facebook thinks it's a fan creation. Shame, it'd be nice to have some Showa love from SHMA.

Thats defiently a fan creation. Looks from someone in America too. The reason I can tell is because the person has a Straight Talk phone card to the left side. You can't tell it is but I see them every day at work to know what they are.

I swear they're doing this JUST to piss you off. Seriously, how long has it been since the first photos were leaked, and now we're getting a rerelease to further push back the timeline?

That said, I was actually hoping for a reissue/repaint of this guy. Didn't pick him up the first time around. I also like that they're actually including an effect part! I prefer beams to helicopters on bendy wires.

Finally going up for preorder soon! Going to be an exclusive, will have to see how it gets distributed in the US. Some of the exclusives have gone up for sale on Tamashii's international store rather than get a Bluefin retail release.

I've yet to see Dada go up on the US store, which sucks since I was told they are now selling all of their products there.

You were definitely told wrong. The store only carries a fraction of the Japanese selection and concentrates on the properties most relevant to the North American market that Bluefin opts not to carry. Punting some of the MonsterArts reissues and things like the DBZ Figuarts Zero statues to this makes good financial sense.

Wow... yeah, that's exactly what it means.

Considering that the earlier batches of releases included a manga Ultraman release, definitely not. I think they're probably skeptical of the success of a release like Dada overseas and possibly being overly cautious over the whole Chaiyo licensing fiasco. Bluefin clearly is able to offer domestic releases directly, but perhaps the perception is too poor for a Japanese released Ultraman product from one of the series in dispute being marketed directly to North American customers.

On the actual topic of MonsterArts rather than our brief Dada aside, we have confirmed Bluefin release in February at a MSRP of $94.99!

$95 is quite pricey, but I really can't be picky when it comes to a non-Godzilla Showa figure.

Mechagodzilla looks really nice. And I'd like to show support for well done Showa monsters. But I've already got the chrome plated version of the Chogokin MG 1974, which is really striking in person. And $95 seems rather steep... there's just too many awesome collectibles these days. And I don't have a lot of cash to blow on toys these days. Plus I've actually been thinning out my collection recently, trying to refine it down to stuff I *really* want, not just stuff I think is cool. Trying to go more "quality over quantity".

Still... it's a tough call.

Being a Bluefin release does thankfully offer more flexibility in how and when to pick it up, rather than a case of being on the NA Tamashii Webshop or, worse, only the Japanese one. I'm not thrilled about the price but I don't own any of the Chogokins anymore, so it's much easier to justify.

Man, do I wish that was not the case though. I've expressed my disdain for assembly of the Chogokin Kiryus before, but the Showa MGs were fantastic. The money being needed at the time necessitated their sale, otherwise I'd gladly have kept at least one.

It certainly looks nice, as far as you can tell from that one small picture anyway.

But possibly more importantly is that it's another all new sculpt AND it's not Heisei!

Kiryu-Goji is not anywhere close to my favorite suit designs so I've not got much interest in the figure myself, but it's certainly good news and hopefully the start of a new trend in the line.

Now hurry up and give us GMK Baragon, or anything new from the Showa series!
