New Toys/Books/Models! Find new releases? Post them here

Postby obert22 » Sat Jan 14, 2006 8:13 am

I thought it would be cool to have a place to post pics/news of new Godzilla/Gamera/Kaiju toy releases they find. Post them here (with pics if you have them). I'll leave it as a sticky and they'll always be here for future reference. Try to take a quick look before posting to make sure someone hasn't already posted it before.

I'll start but a couple of these might not be that new. :)

Also upcoming but no pics yet that I can find.

West Kenji Final Wars Godzilla (Jan)
Takara Microman Godzilla 54 (Black and White) (Jan)
Bandai Diecast Mechagodzilla 75 (Feb)

That should get us started. I know I'm missing some new Gamera but that will give someone else a chance to post something. :)

That H-Man figure... I must have it... when is it out and where can i find it?

Here's something I'm looking forward to getting. Its Bandai's figure for Eve (from Ultraman Max). I really loved that episode (directed by the great Takashi Miike).

That episode was pretty mind-boggling, and the sheer power of something like If (other translations I've seen of the creature's name are Ifu, or If, which makes more sense than Eve for a creature that can become anything), where there was no possible way to use a weapon to destroy it, was almost too much. It also pointed out the tragic flaw in organizations like DASH assuming that destruction is the only option when facing invaders (if you can call a giant white ball appearing in an empty lot an invasion!).

Hey I like that Iwakura Gigan. I dont think I've ever seen a 1973 Gigan anywhere before.

And I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Destroyah 1995" and "Space Godzilla 1994" don't make any sense!

so, aside from the "1973" on the box, is there any way to tell the difference between 72 & 73 gigan? I've never been able to tell a difference (which i'm ashamed to admit b/c i'm one who can never understand people who ant see the difference between 74 & 75 mechagodzilla or the different g-suits). It'd be really nice if someone could post pics of the actual suits....

Is that Mothra jacket something somebody made or something that you can buy? My girlfriend would love that.

Not sure, but it's on Yahoo Japan for about $1000. My wife thinks it was handmade embroidery done with a something like a Futura.

"Eve" is what my subtitles say and its also the name given on Ultramanlah.com, who is probably the most reliable source for Ultra info.

This thread seems redundant and unnecessary. The majority of threads in "Toys & Figures" are people posting about new releases. Do we really need one gigantic thread to take the place of 50+% of the posts here?

FYI the HG Chronicles 3 and the Red Crystal Gigan were discussed back in November (although that's the first good pic of the HG Hedora I've seen).

And speaking of that Hedora, it's interesting how it's placed in a set of reissues of some of the more weaker sculpts in the HG line, such as Space Godzilla, Destroyah, Little Godzilla and Angilas. At least the FW Godzilla makes sense, considering it wasnt in the chronicles set. I guess everything else that was half-way decent already appeared in those two chronicle sets. (Ever notice how often to word "chronicle" is used on Japanese products? :?: )

WOW really cool thread Mark for posting new products! All look nice! Gotta start my Iwakura collection soon. The Red Gigan was some special they had earlier (I believe a giveaway or something) as a tie in w/ the R2 GFW DVD release.

That Mothra jacket is VERY nice.... But for $1000, I wouldn't even dare to wear it to get it dirty. It would be nice if there are more G-clothing to show ur Kaiju Pride. ;)

I love that G'head wall decoration thing and that Gigan garage kit. The reason Gigan is attacking the Prehistoric Mothra Larva could be the historical war between Mothra & Gigan. Could tie in the 96-98 Mothra series into the GFW timeline. ;)

Speaking of the Chronical Set, how much does the 1st two go for now? I don't have any HGs. Are these sets a good way to start off?

Well, the subtitles on MY episodes said If, and the translation of Ifu came from both the UltramanLah! forums and HLJ. Yet another reason I want Ultraman back in the US - standardized translations. Still say If makes more sense anyway! :P

The red Gigan 2005 is an exclusive version of the 6" mold, and was obtained in a lottery by sending in a handful (three? five?) of the new red tags from the latest MM releases. Man, those are crazy prices though.

Found a few more things, sorry if any of these are not new. Once I get a good process down for these and get caught up this should stay pretty current. Here ya go (Thanks to Thai Toku for a couple of these):

CCP exclusives

Are those the Godzilla Towers that came out a few years back that you needed to send in header cards for? The Gigan repaint doesn't look bad, but I think that 68 Godzilla may be a little too blue, if you ask me.

Hmm, what's with the CCP Ebirah? Is it motorized?

Same sculpt , new paint. I believe for Wonderfest but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I seem to remember reading the Ebirah is set up for bathtime use. :)

They're from Lucky Bags sold at Tokyo SuperFest earlier this month. The bags included 4 figures, 2 painted and 1 unpainted and a 4th "extra" that might be painted or unpainted. From what I understand every bag had either a red or yellow (painted) Godzilla Tower, a Gigan and a Godzilla 1968 (one painted, the other unpainted) and one more figure (a repainted VP Baragon or one of the "baby" figures Marmit's done seem to have been most common).

On Yahoo Japan the yellow ones have been going for around $75, the red ones more. Then you have to figure in bidding service fees & international shipping. From a US dealer I'd figure at least $100, maybe more.

Comic Images was the company to have released that CCG, right? Maybe they changed their mind... Looks neat, might check it out once we see some more pics.
