Yeah. I'd love if they did another batch of different styled buildings because after a while, my city is going ot look pretty boring. It would also be cool if they were to do some cars and maybe trees to go with it. Hell, they should make the trees able to peg into the holes.

My wife and kids gave me the S.h. Monsterarts Godzilla ‘54 for my birthday recently. It is AWESOME. It’s super accurate and has REALLY well engineered and implemented articulation that works wonderfully without ruining the look. I still have the 6 inch Bandai vinyl and NECA figures so I took some comparison photos. I was already planning on selling the vinyl, but now I’ll be selling the NECA too. If anyone here is interested in either of those, pm me before I put them on eBay. I’m not one to shy away from having multiples of the same Monster, but I don’t really need three different 6 inch figures of the ‘54 suit, all in a “realistic” style. Each figure is nice for what it is (and the NECA is actually an incredible figure for the price point), but if I’m only gonna keep one, the monsterarts is CLEARLY the superior figure in every respect (with a price to match, of course).

The tail in particular is incredibly impressive but all the articulation is great. This guy looks like he walked right off the movie set. And he’s ridiculously pose-able! Mine has one tiny paint flub on the right fang. It’s only visible from certain angles and lighting so it’s not worth trying to swap it out. I might try to touch it up myself sometime. It’s just a little dark gray paint on top of the light gray. Some delicate dry brushing would probably hide it easily. This is only my fifth monsterarts (and easily my favorite so far), but it’s SO well done it’s making me want to snag a few more of the better ones.

So I liked the ‘54 monsterarts so much that I went and ordered another one I’ve been eyeing since it was first revealed; Godzilla from GMK.

It’s an incredible figure. Much like the ‘54, it looks like he just walked right off the screen. I will say the articulation on the ‘54 is noticeably better. It’s hidden better and generally has a better range of motion. In fact, I think the ‘54 may have some of the best engineered articulation in any action figure I’ve ever seen. But the GMK Goji’s articulation is nothing to scoff at. It still allows for incredibly dynamic posing. And both figures do a great job actually holding even the most extreme poses without wilting. Very happy with these two!

My way too crowded MonsterArts, Revoltech, and other similar figures. I’m in the process of ceaning up/refining my collection by selling stuff on eBay. I’m quickly reaching the point where I plan to do a complete tear down, dusting, and rebuilding of my display, which hasn’t been done since we started having kids almost 4 years ago...

That GMK looks great! I finally ordered a vinyl Shin-Godzilla and a vinyl Godzilla 2000 this weekend. I think they should get here probably around my birthday (2-3 week shipping from Japan), so I'm excited to finally get some Godzilla vinyl. They're my birthday presents to myself this year.

my little vinyl collection so far.

I got mine on sale at HobbyLink Japan a while back. It really is a great figure - makes me excited for the possibilities if Tamashii bothered to do more Showa characters.

I've kept busy with enlarging my collection since my last post - these two beauties were acquired from a Facebook collector who was selling for a GREAT combined price:

...Then I finally found the big Lanard Kong over the summer - I still haven't unboxed him...

I made my first purchase from Mandarake, to my supreme satisfaction - two more splendid figures I've desired for a while but kept failing to pull the trigger on:

Another HLJ haul:

...And another assortment, via HLJ and Facebook sellers:

Finally these two showed up from Mandarake last week:

You got a ton of cool kaiju toys to admire and be jealous of, but that MH Gigan is just the best. I love its beautiful baby blue and am still wowed by that sculpt today. I'm glad to at least own the standard green one, but one day really would like to own more, that color scheme and the orange/black ones in particular.

Yeah, it's extremely lovely. I don't really play favorites in my collection any more - but this one is a favorite. That I got it for the price I did was the deluxe icing on the cake.

Oh, yeah, and this guy showed up last week:

I'm going to post a few more photos in the Bandai Premium thread.

very cool stuff. Is that Gigan vinyl? Neat. The Gargantua figure is cool too. Some neat stuff here.

my Necas came today, GMK and Shin
Image

They're blocking some new vinyl Kamen Riders in that pic, Kuuga is behind GMK and Agito is behind Shin. I'm still waiting on OOO, V2, V3, and Amazon to get here.

I'm a lot more impressed with the Necas than I was expecting to be and now I sort of want to get the 54 B&W Godzilla to go with them.

And I'm still waiting for the Bandai vinyl Shin and Millennium to get here too.

Yep, the Gigan is vinyl. I believe that's the standard for Marmit figures.

How's the articulation on NECA Shin? Is it better than on GMK?

it seems like they have joints in the same spots, though I think the sculpt itself is a bit more posable with GMK. The left arm is a little stiff, and the weight of the tail eventually pulls it down if I pose it sticking up. But I can get it into poses like the movie and that's really what I wanted. And if I stand it up very straight and tuck the head down it doesn't really have that long looking head like in the promotional shots. And the red all over him looks really good in person.

For the price I don't think you can beat them. I'm going to order the '14 and the '54 next, I didn't expect them to be as good as they turned out to be. Especially considering I'm pretty sure I paid more for the 2 vinyl Godzillas I ordered that aren't posable or solid like these are. And the Shin vinyl isn't even really painted.

my first Bandai vinyl finally arrived after like 7 weeks.  It must have taken the boat from Japan that was actually a paddle-boat.

Very cool though, I like it.

What are those? They look reminiscent of those little rubber monster finger puppets my grandfather used to give me as a kid...

Its the X-Plus Super Deformed line of Shin Godzilla figures - These translucent variants were exclusives for the Tokyo Comic Con show (limit 75) - it sounds like the will have lottery, so a second chance for those that missed these. They sold out very fast

Finally they have arrived. They were marked shipped on October 17 and showed up December 1st. I almost did not want to take them out of the bags.

I love them. There is some nice subtle coloring on Gaira you can not see very well in photos.

Given the conceptual shot of Gaira and Sanda hanging from store pegs, I'm surprised either one includes a sealed bag at all. Would've expected the open-ended bags retail figures usually get, but the inclusion of a header card is neat. Speaking of surprises, this is the first time I've seen the tag for either figure. WOW! They actually did them in the classic style! Amazing.

They really are great vinyl figures. I'm pleased for every collector who got them.

Speaking of great vinyl figures:

AWWWW YEAAHHHHH LOOK WHO'S HERE

It's the Frozen var. Banpresto Shin Godzilla, newly arrived from Mandarake. The box size kind of killed the good price, but you know what? It was worth it. This figure is beautiful in every way.
And now THEY'RE ALL MINE:

oh man, so much Shin,..too cool!

my Atomic Blast GMK, G54, and G14 came in today. I like them. Especially the Atomic Blast I worried wouldn't look that good in person but I actually really like it and the paint effect 'lighting him up' actually works really well.

Image

I also like that he's painted completely different than the original GMK Neca figure and is so much darker. And the blue back spines look really great in person. I debated getting essentially two of the same figures but I'm glad now that I did.

Now I just have to wait until March for Godzilla VS Spacegodzilla and for Burning Godzilla to be reissued. I'm really digging the Neca line.

Though I'm seriously considering getting the SHMonsterarts Shin and the SHM recolored Millennium Godzilla too.

..mostly I'm starting to think I need more bookshelf space. These tails take up a lot of room. Godzilla is not quite as easy as collecting figures since he takes up a lot more space.
