@John
Thanks! It's very tough to tell just from screenshots. My initial impression was they look about the same as other Toho transfers that I'm satisfied with. But then I zoomed in and compared them to some screenshots from the german Ghidrah bluray (which I'm told is the same transfer as the Toho disc) and there is definately a difference where your MZ screenshots are fuzzier and less detailed. I'd imagine it's more obvious in motion.

Yes, I definately think the GvsMothra '64 and Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster Toho blurays are totally worth it. When I ordered them from amazon.co.jp a few weeks ago they were only about $35 a piece. The special features on the Ghidrah disc alone are worth the price. I'd also recommend the G'84 blu. It's picture quality is not as good as the Showa titles (largely due to excessive video noise, but it can be minimized if your tv has a decent noise reduction setting) but it's still the best the film has ever looked on home video and it also has some excellent bonus features. And while I don't have it (yet) I hear the King Kong vs Godzilla bluray is a noteworthy improvement over any previous release if you're looking for the Japanese cut.
