MovieStop stores are just on the East coast. I used to go to the one in Chesapeake, VA when I lived in Virginia Beach -- was a pretty good place to pick up home video releases. I picked up used copies of War In Space and Latitude Zero (in 2008 or early 2009) for just $3 each; looked like they were only watched once. Also found several Classic Doctor Who releases at the time for $3 to $5 each.
MovieStop has an online store now, but the online prices are inline with other online retailers (they do run sales & such but I'm not sure how those compare). Actually going to the store was great as you could find some real deals. If you're ever near a MovieStop for some reason, I can certainly recommend checking them out. The online store is probably worth a look too, if only to see what it's like.
I'd be thrilled if MovieStop started up locations in the Mid-West, the closest thing I've found has been Vintage Stock (a couple locations just over 20 miles away) but I've never found any deals (outside of their sales) and their prices tend to be a little on the high side for both new and used. Vintage Stock also deals in music, video games, used toys, comics and collectibles so they have a smaller selection of everything in the same size store as a typical GameStop (and MovieStop).
There's a FYE store about 45 minutes away too, but really it and the Vintage Stock stores are simply too far away to be convenient places to me to shop (especially when you figure in gas cost).
Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?
