The question is, if this is real, which one will this be? Will this be the 1978 Hanna-Barbera series or the 1998 Sony animated series sequel to the 1998 American movie?

Almost certainly 1998. Mill Creek's been doing stuff with Sony's catalog.

Good point, especially since I believe Classic Media still holds the rights to the Hanna-Barbera series.

I remember enjoying the 1998 show a lot so I decided to revisit it on Netflix. Honestly, while it's better than the GINO movie for sure, it didn't do a lot to keep me watching this time. The animation has not aged well and the monster battles/chases aren't nearly as fun as I remembered. Ten years ago I would've been down for this, but today? I think I'll pass. At least until I feel the magic again.

I will get this for sure. Also a very good sign that Mill Creek will in fact be releasing Godzilla movies as well. I enjoyed the 98 animated series much more than the one from the 70s so I will def. be picking this us.

It would be nice if someone would get off their arse and finish releasing the HB series.

I believe Sony lost the rights to the shows movies, so I doubt Mill Creek will be doing anything with them. Best chance would be that Kraken company picking up the remainders. I'll be picking this up for sure... Was hoping this would be released to coincide with the new movie.

I'm aware of the fact Sony chose not to renew their rights for the Showa films. I was referring to Mill Creek possibly releasing films from GvsKG91 through Final Wars on Bluray since Sony has retained their rights to those.

Yes MIB The Animated series and Extreme Ghostbusters come to mind. I still enjoy them both very much.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

I liked this show. I remember it being quite good. The people behind this show definitely did their best to take the turd of GINO and turn it into an actual Godzilla series. It was like a better version of the Hanna Barbera series.

I'll pick this up for sure, especially for the price they're asking.

So excited for this. :D Especially at this price. I loved this show and it had a number of really cool kaiju (C-Rex, The Chameleon, Dragma come to mind...certainly more interesting looking than Bagan or the video game kaiju.)

For $10 it seems like a no-brainer.

Did the other Godzilla cartoon ever get fully put on DVD?
You know the silly one with Godzookie...

I never really bothered with the 1998 Godzilla cartoon.
Though maybe I will now.
Heard it's actually a lot better than the movie was...

Only the first season of the 1978 Hanna-Barbera series was released on DVD in three volumes. Classic Media never released the second season.

Has this been confirmed as the 98 series, or is just an educated guess based on previous licensing agreements?

I think it's a very safe assumption being made due to the recent licensing agreement between Sony and Mill Creek and Classic Media's continued ownership of the rights to the Hanna-Barbera show.

Classic Media has sublicensed Godzilla properties before, so i didnt think it was outside the realm of possibilities, especially considering that they never finished releasing them

I don't think Classic Media has the Hanna-Barbara series anymore.

I'll be buying this upcoming release regardless of which series it is.

If this were the complete Hanna Barbera series I might pick them up for nostalgia's sake. I just can't see myself ever watching Gino TAS. The monsters were cool but the characters, dialogue, and animation were terrible.

Were they? I haven't watched it since it aired but I remembered liking it a lot.

But I was also 14 years old.

Yep, it has been for years now. The first season of the Hanna-Barbara series used to be on there too but it's gone now.
