On a related note, yesterday Tyler posted another video on YouTube, this time claiming that Shout! Factory used VCD transfers for their ULTRA SEVEN and ULTRA Q DVD sets. Tyler based this on a an email he says was sent to him by Cliff Macmillan (who handles Production and Acquistions for Shout) which states “The funny thing is that we used VCDs, from Sands. Which I think look good for, well, being VCDs.”

But there are some major problems with what Tyler shows and says in the video...

1. The email address Tyler shows in the video, <cliffmacmillan@shoutfactory.com>, is not Cliff’s email address at Shout. Whoever sent the email, it wasn’t Cliff.

2. The info in the email from “Cliff” is wrong… Shout was sent digital tape masters by Golden Media Group, the company who had licensed these shows from UM Inc/Tiga (Chaiyo’s reps).

3. The real Cliff Macmillan actually posted a comment to this video and set the record straight: “ I did not send that email. It's just someone doing a cut and paste. Our masters are on tape, so why would I say something that isn't true. The licensor delivered tape masters”

Instead of acknowledging his mistake, Tyler went even further: “So you admit that it's a tape master, you're really inconsistent. Tape masters are WORSE than VCD masters, and to think you sold us that faulty product.”

So Tyler falls for a fake email Cliff didn’t send, makes a video about it, and then calls the real Cliff “really inconsistent” for pointing out the info in the video was wrong. Tyler also shows he doesn’t understand the technology -- there’s a world of difference between VHS and the tape masters used by film, tv, and video companies… which are far higher quality than VCDs -- and he tries to shame Cliff with his “and to think you sold us that faulty product” accusation.

Tyler has always come across as a nice and enthusiastic guy, but it’s obvious his “friend” is feeding him some flat-out lies and Tyler is wasting no time spreading them. In the Criterion video, Ben Wagner misspelled Jon Mulvaney’s first name, and when Mulvaney supposedly replied he misspelled his own name, too… that quite a coincidence.

If Tyler wants to keep ignoring what is so obvious to everyone else here, that’s his business. But he crossed the line with the Shout! Factory video… that video accusation about Cliff Macmillan is absolute garbage.

Tyler, it’s time to step up and apologize to Cliff Macmillan. Even more, you owe him a public apology.

I'm going to post the following not with the intent to step on any toes, but because if any of this Ben Wagner/TK crap is flowing onto these boards, the mods need to know and it needs to stop ASAP.

Anyway, I received this private message in my inbox from Tyler. Tyler, this isn't being done to make you mad or call you out. I'm telling you that because you are new here. But what you need to understand is that unlike TK, we're a tight knit community, and we have low tolerance for this nonsense that you yourself are attracting (ie people impersonating other people, etc). I know that's not strictly your fault, but its definitely something you're attracting with these posts.

As for the alleged message from Keith, I don't know. Keith is a friend and a great mod here, so if this steps on his toes, he can feel free to remove the message. Although I'm not sure why he would use Sci Fi Japan's e-mail (which he's never actually used in any correspondence with me personally) to relay a strictly board-related message. I really don't think Keith would send Ben Wagner a message with any sensitive information, so I'm very doubtful of its validity. Wagner has obviously been lying to Tyler about this and that and I think this e-mail from "Keith" is another one... I'm sure the real Keith will clarify.

I don't think Wagner (or Tyler for that matter) counted on any of us actually knowing Keith.

I've worked with Keith quite a bit in the past for Sci Fi Japan stuff and Legion is right, that's certainly not his writing style.

OT: I think it's almost a given that Sony will have HD re-releases of the Heisei and Millennium titles that they currently own. It will be interesting to see who ends up picking up the Showa titles..

I see that you follow my channel these last two days, Mr. Aiken. I like the commentary on Terror of Mechagodzilla and you also come out as a nice person as well. I can confirm that your log about me and my activities is true, video wise. I have no intentions to apologize to Cliff, at least not now. In the series of videos I have done on his products, I didn't call him outside of his name nor have nothing against him but rather to criticize them for their flaws, so at least in my point of view, I would be apologizing for no reason. I sent some of you guys that private message for the intent of being private but I see that it's out publicity. Anyway, I'm not apologizing to any body or any one, that's all I'll say about the matter.

I'm not sure about you but apologizing for a VCD sounds incredibly silly. I take you haven't seen my video, but I said I thought they were VCD masters judging from said email. I even define VCD as Video Compact Disc, even stating that they're heavily compressed than DVD. Cliff is very inconsistent with his information, he did the same for the Bruce Lee boxset calling the upscales "HD masters" for the first recalled set. It doesn't have anything to do with pride. I'm not apologizing to any one and that's final.

I have two suspitions here... 1. Tyler either you are naive and believe anythng the "Ben Wagner" troll will tell you, or 2. You ARE the "Ben Wagner" troll... seems some of the comments in your videos are very similiar in style... I think you should apologize to Cliff as well, or at the very least acknowledge everything in your videos was false, or take them down. This all just seems odd to me.

1. False videos and false information are posted online the past two days by TylerPreston20 from "Ben Wagner"
2. TylerPreston20 joins Monster Zero & Toho Kingdom (that I know of) to announce all this false info
3. Most previously banned users over at TK are "unbanned" today... Kind of scary but I know that isn't tolerated here. But overall I've been posting more here, and lurking over there as of late

Dude, come on. Stop being so sensitive. Just admit your mistake, and move on. It's also in your best interest to remove your video, but you seem pretty comfortable with spreading false/misinformation, so I don't expect that to happen.

Of course the releases are inferior because the materials that Chaiyo are working with obviously pale in comparison to the recent remastered releases from Tsuburaya. That's common knowledge to most people in these parts.
