Blu-ray Zatoichi box set WILL be mine! Hmmm... don't know if I can scrape together enough dough to get all (or even most) of the CC goodies I'd like to have.

I guess they're exchanging the discs, but be careful which one you buy and maybe try to confirm that you're not getting anything defective.

Also, I find this 50% off sale to be a bit of a mis-nomer, personally. B&N's normal price like like 30% less than MSRP and the "50% off" sale is just 50% off the MSRP. I've seen other companies do it, too (Shout Factory, Amazon) so it's not like it's just relegated to B&N or Criterion, but I always find it a tad irksome.

^The speed and efficiency with which they came up with a replacement program is indeed impressive. I believe they're even replacing a title that they no longer even own the rights too. Damn impressive.

Turns out the defect is with discs manufactured by a certain pressing plant within a certain time window.

This weekend I'll probably select some Criterions as my Christmas gifts. Might buy another for myself later in the month.

Thanks to this sale, I finally picked up "Time Bandits" and "Robinson Crusoe on Mars". 2 movies I've wanted for quite some time, I just didn't feel like spending $40 apiece for them. Hope to get back soon and pick up "Yojimbo" and "Seven Samurai"...

Thanks to the sale I was able to get Hidden Fortress, Scanners and Eraserhead. I was looking for Throne of Blood but they were picked clean, I'd never seen it like that before.

Looking forward to The Brood, Kwaidan and Mulholland Dr. this October, those look like good Halloween releases.

I splurged more on this sale than any previous one!

I got Island of Lost Souls, Kiss Me Deadly, Watership Down, 3:10 to Yuma, Ace in the Hole, Orpheus, City Lights, The Great Dictator, Stagecoach, and Rashomon.

Can't wait for Kwaidan!
