People are IMPOSSIBLE.

"Bwah, why don't these companies just use the theatrical posters? There's nothing wrong with them!"
<Company uses theatrical poster>
"Bwah, these look so cheap!"

Unless Godzilla's wearing a shortsleeve shirt, it looks nothing like a bargain bin release to me.
Gills.

I'm still convinced that account is a secondary account created for trolling purposes...

When deciding which edition of The Night of the Hunter to buy, the UK release is a fraction of the price of the Criterion and has the exact same transfer. Unfortunately, while the Criterion has this effectively creepy cover, the UK release is saddled with this awkward drawing.

^Does the UK release have hours of footage of Charles Laughton on the set directing the film? I've been told the Criterion one has that.

It has a reversible sleeve with the original poster artwork on the other side, if you find that preferable.

Yep, the very same thing is on the Arrow edition as well.

Colossal is definitely the latest member of the "please just use the poster art instead" club. The US release is the worst offender, with its muddy colour scheme and cluttered layout. The recently revealed UK release is at least more eye-catching, but looks like an 80s rom-com! Only Australia is lucky enough to get the best possible cover, but that's dampened a bit by the usual over-bearing age rating box.

Slip case offers some redemption (better than the PR lenticular at least) - i usually toss the slip covers, but I'll keep this one

Damn, I'd prefer that even over the poster art version.

Kiryugoji will attest, but I absolutely hate the feel of holographic covers, but that is pretty cool nonetheless.

I actually love the hell out of the regular cover. It's just, "hey, here's a kaiju movie, and we're having so much fun!" XD
