^Synapse's retail version of Suspiria will also have two versions: single and 2 disc. Do I just need the movie, or do I need the copies extras as well?

Finally coming out on Feb. 27th. I thought this was a decent remake (great gorilla effects courtesy of Rick Baker), though it was not as charming as the original and wished that Ray Harryhausen and Terry Moore had a little more to do than that quick cameo. This was the movie, however, that introduced me to Charlize Theron.

Warner Archive is releasing The Black Scorpion on Blu-Ray! Includes all the DVD extras, including the animated segments O'Brien and Harryhausen did for The Animal World!

Excellent! All we need is "The Giant Behemoth" and I am sure that is coming soon. WB usually announces multiple title releases!

It looks like Toho's Dracula trilogy is finally going to make the blu-ray rounds courtesy of Arrow Video! To be released around May 14th or 15th. However, it looks no English dubbing will be included in any of the three features. "The Vampire Doll" is the one movie I have yet to see.

I've seen them, and it's definitely cool they're getting released, but at Arrow Video pricing, I'll probably pass. They're all solid, but like...3.5/5, 3/5 for me.

Hammer fans will REALLY like them and I have no doubt they'll look REALLY good on blu, especially from Arrow, but at their price-point, these aren't something I personally feel the need to own.

I've been dying to check the Toho Dracula films out for a while. These are a definite pick up for me!

I'm just really pumped. It's been a few months since the last Blu-Ray announcement that knocked my socks off, so Black Scorpion and Toho Dracula Trilogy are just super welcome - and I was looking for an Arrow release that appealed to me because I dug the Female Prisoner Scorpion set. I hope they do more Japanese genre stuff. Would love for a kaiju title from them!

Hammer fans will REALLY like them

Shout Factory is now dealing with Warner in a big way: Curse of the Cat People and Night of the Lepus coming to Blu-Ray in June!

This is fantastic: WB has the biggest library of classic movies and between Warner Archive, Criterion, and Shout all releasing their films we're in good shape!

FINALLY................ I've wanted this seemingly forever..................

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Mighty ... ries/24073

and more good news, WB is finishing Static Shock as well...

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Static ... on-4/24075

So for animated series based on DC properties...I guess all that's left is Filmations Superboy, Legion & Superheroes Season 2...I may be missing something, it's still early. But overall WB has been way better about distributing DC titles than Disney has of Marvel, there are so many great marvel series that need a proper DVD release, they are way behind in that regard. I'm just glad we got X-Men before 2012. otherwise it would never have been released.

^I'd never even heard of Orbots! A Japanese/American co-production Super Robot show?

Discotek is releasing the Fist of the North Star movie on Blu-Ray. Gotta love that tagline!

Unless you were there, most people would not remember it. And even 99% of people in my age range I'm sure don't...But I made sure never to forget 8) . I just remember when this came on Saturday Morning in the fall of 1984, it was completely awesome, and then in a few short months...it was gone. Gobots & Transformers had just come on the scene, and Voltron & Robotech had not quite yet arrived. Admittedly, the personalities of the robots were generic Saturday-Morning fare, but the overall story was pretty bold for the times. Especially since the combined robot form is pretty much a copy of Godmars https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_God_C ... on_Godmars. I was especially impressed even at a young age that there was a *final episode* of sorts, and the enemy defeated, something that NEVER happened in American cartoons typically.

any fan of Japanese Super Robots should give this very rare American series a try. 8)

Sadly, there was no merchandise to back this show, but it still goes in the pantheon of amazing 1980's cartoons with kick-ass opening themes

This deserves a Blu Ray release, but its about what I expected. Considering DreamWorks/Netflix releases are sporadic at best, I guess I should count it a small miracle we are getting anything at all.

That's a bummer, I was hoping to pick this series up on blu-ray. Just maybe Voltron can ultimately get the same treatment that Fuller House has gotten; the first hit DVD and last year the second season along with sales of the first season remaining strong enough that the second season is getting a blu-ray release.

Excellent! One of the more unusual Vincent Price features during that period (is there such a thing inside of us, as we get scared? ).

Finally some news has come out from Kino Lorber. "Jack the Giant Killer" will be released on June 12. Will include the regular version and the musical (I heard that version was pretty bad, but now curious to see it for myself). And audio commentary by Film Historian Tim Lucas (on the original cut)

Yup, just got that Criterion notice in my email:

I always prefer the British title "Stairway to Heaven", but of course, some will think that they made a movie out of Led Zeppelin's album!

^I think A Matter of Life and Death is the original title, and Stairway to Heaven was the US release title.

Always love Criterion's original artwork for these movies. Can't wait to see what they do for Godzilla!
