The short version is that Criterion sub-licensed GODZILLA from Classic Media with Toho's consent.
A good friend sent me a heads' up about this a while ago, and both Toho and Criterion were nice enough to fill me in on the details about what exactly is in the works. I was asked not to say anything until Criterion was ready to go public (which I'm guessing they did today on Facebook) so now I'll see if I can give the okay to share some specifics on SFJ.
In the meantime, keep checking Criterion's FB page because I imagine they'll have a lot more to say in the near future.
