I grabbed some items for Black Friday - or, at least, coinciding for some. Sentai Filmworks had some great sales going on -
Tamako Love Story and
Big O here were respectively about $5 and $25 each! I'm only halfway through
Big O at this time, but I've enjoyed it enough so far to say that it was worth the purchase. The steelbook here comes with a thick art book, and has a plastic slipcover like the Mill Creek Tokusatsu Blu-rays (I hope this is a new trend catching on). UNLIKE the Mill Creek cases, however, this one has a hinged holder in between, so all four discs have their own spot.
Fury Road was one I'd been meaning to get for a while (regret not seeing this in theaters), but the black & chrome edition specifically intrigued me over the regular release, so I just hadn't bit the bullet yet. It came down in price recently on Amazon, so I nabbed it along with
Jaws.
Would you believe I've never seen
Jaws in its entirety?
I went ahead and got it, though, in anticipation of watching it with some friends. I figured it was a pretty safe blind box, and I might as well spend a little extra for a nicer edition! I'm not an intense collector, but these digibooks and steelbooks 'n stuff just look way better on the shelf than ordinary clamshells, you know?
I'm still waiting on one more from Best Buy; hopefully the delay doesn't lead to my order getting cancelled.
