Awesomeness all around for you.

I want all the Muppet films but am currently waiting for Blu Rays (I hope it isn't too long a wait).

Just got my tax return, and celebrated Big time:

D&D Animated series
Mobile Suit Gundam (Original series volumes 1&2 anime Legends)
MS Gundam Unicorn volume 2
Futurama Volume 6 (Blu-Ray)
The Simpsons season 14 (Blu-Ray)
Silverhawks Volume 2
Godzilla Criterion (Blu-Ray)
Kung-Fu Panda 2 (Blu-Ray)
GI:Joe Series 2 Season 1
Transformers:Japanese Collection (Headmasters, Masterforce & Victory)

Btw... All the muppets movies ARE on Blu-Ray now. Unfortunately I already have all on standard DVD, so I wont be double-dipping
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

From my latest tour of the closing out Blockbusters in the area. $2 each. Some of these I haven't even seen. But for $2 each, if I like em, great, if not, I'll just pawn them off on some poor sap down the line.

Damn, yours too? Of the three we have in the area they're shutting down out closest one. I think it still has about a month to go. There's not much I'm terribly interested at the current prices, until they lower them significantly. I remember I really raided Hollywood Video when they went out of business...

Yeah, man. There are 5 in the area going out right now. I've been raiding them for the last month. 3 of them are in their last week and 2 of them just started closing.

And you better believe I raided the sh*t out of the Hollywood Videos when they went out also.

Hollywood video had better niche, older videos....Blockbuster only carries the newer stuff for the most part I think. I wish I would have raided a few Hollywood Videos :(

Toho Blu-ray region free?

Postby Daikaijuu Rojira » Mon Feb 20, 2012 12:30 am

Question:

Does anyone on this forum own any of Toho's blu-rays of any of the Showa/Heisei G-films? If the info on CD Japan is accurate, these are region free.

Anyone?

I know that when the Blu-Ray standard was set up they reduced the number of regions from 6 or so that DVD has down to 3.

Both the United States and Japan are in Blu-Ray Region A, so even if the Toho discs are region coded you'll be able to play them fine (assuming you're in the US or Canada somewhere).

Yeah in the beginning I bought pretty much any obscure kaiju film I could get my hands on just to support the genre. But then when several started coming out, I decided to scale back and become more selective in my choices.

I kept Negadon, but sold my copies of Death Kappa & Garuda. I still have my copy of "Legend of Dino's & Monster Birds" however as it is a terrible Sandy Frank dub classic & was done on MST3K's KTMA shows. Never bothered with Demeking, and D-War is viewable on-line anytime for free

I liked Negadon for what it was, and I too have held onto it. I still have my copy of Garuda too.

But Death Kappa? Legends of the Dinosaurs and Monster Birds? Terrible movies.

Also, I think Alice in Wonderland might be my least favorite movie that I saw in theaters in maybe 10 years.

I ain't carin'! If I didn't want to see/own these films, I wouldn't have bought them. And even if I don't enjoy them, I'll be keeoung them in my collection anyway. And FYI, I thought ALICE IN WONDERLAND was great (why I bought it).

i love it. it's a Halloween must-watch for me, and for $3, I couldn't pass it up.

I'm probably gonna make at least one more trip there, because they had probably another four or five films I want...I'm just holding out for maybe another price decrease...
