I present the two best animated films of 2019, by my reckoning. I found
Mirai at Walmart for 19.99, which was perfect for me; and I ordered
Spider-verse off Amazon since that's the best price I've seen so far. I feel a little bad, though - my copy lacks a slipcover, so it kind of disappears on my shelf. Of all the animated films to be unnoticeable!
I visited Walmart again yesterday and picked these two up. Would you believe this is my first Marvel movie purchase? (not counting Spidey above) I've never quite been compelled enough to grab any - maybe because the films are just everywhere and so easy to see - but since a bunch of them were selling for $20, I figured I might as well grab one. The first
Avengers might still be my favorite; it and
Winter Soldier seem to be the ones I feel most inclined to revisit.
Rampage was a decent popcorn film, and as a giant monster movie I've been tempted to pick it up before. With the G:KotM promotion tied in, now seemed as good a time as any. The stylized slipcover is a nice bonus.
I also picked up 9 at Meijer today for 5 bucks; it's been a while since I saw it, but for that price I couldn't resist another, rather unique animated film for my collection.
