^That is an amazing set. I am so glad to have it, and glad they included all the extras from ADV's original DVD releases. This was one time upgraded because having this, instead of 27 cumbersome DVD cases was much better. I'm only slightly disappointed they did not releases the other series on Blu Ray. But I'm at least glad to have them. The only downside is that the 3 part OVA only has the *New* English dub, with the same voices used for the series. I prefer the older dub form the 90's, while it inaccurately names several of the characters, those actors were much better suited for the parts.

Well Gatchaman II is just coming to BD in Japan in a month or two if I recall. As such, Sentai wouldn't have been allowed to put it on BD here.

Frankly, I'm a little skeptical on dealing with the sequels since they were several years later, so they clearly weren't planned from the get go.

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom 4KBD, BD and Digital Set

Also a set that had the 4K releases of X-Men First Class, Days of Future Past and Apocalypse in it. It's exclusive to my work and was only $30.

Something can be planned from the get-go but for various reasons not be greenlit.

Mad Max Fury Road was planned by George Miller basically while he was making Beyond Thunderdome. Took 30 years to get it made.

The way these slipcovers are printed sells the cover design even further: these really look like cheap '70s paperback books!

Truth be told, I had not seen this movie in a long, long time! But seeing as it is close to Halloween, and seeing as this movie and myself are both celebrating our 50th this year, I thought why not? (plus, Criterion had a 24 hour 50% off sale this week online, and I decided to take advantage! ).

This arrived today:

Putting my digital copy up on ebay in a little bit, but so far I love it. The discs are a pain in the ass to get out of the booklet sleeves, though I really like the way they did the packaging. On the other hand, I don't like how they crammed 13 episodes onto each Season 1 disc, but I watched "Moon of the Wolf" and it looks and sounds incredible. It's so bright and clean compared to what I'm used to seeing, and yet, it still appears natural.

I also have to say I find it funny because the two movies are the exact same discs that were sold individually, so Subzero has all of the unremastered versions of the Mr Freeze episodes on it. I do wish they had put the movie poster to MotP in the booklet where its disc is located though. Or at least had made it be one of the lenticular cards it came with. Speaking of which, the cards are pretty cool too as they seem to be 3D versions of the promo art they used back in 92 for the show (I definitely remember the Penguin one from TV Guide Magazine).

I really don't know how WB could do to improve upon this set other than giving Season 1 at least one more disc, but if you haven't bought this yet, you need to do so as it is well worth the $85 I paid. Hell, that's less than a dollar episode, and once I sell off the digital copies, I'll probably have paid around $50 for the entire series, if not less.

Pitiful is right. It seems Disney didn't want to participate this year as if they weren't making billions as it was, I held off on getting most marvel and both SW on Blu Ray figuring I could get them for less than $10. No such luck, then forget it.

I did manage to get DC Lego Supervillains for $35. But no movies, which was sad

I was able to order Deadpool 2, A Quiet Place, Pacific Rim: Uprising and Avengers: Infinity War on BRD from Amazon for less than $40 altogether.

Unfortunately Rampage, Annihilation and Black Panther were all sold out.

They have the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom BRD for just $10. I still haven't seen it and I thought about blind-buying it for less than the cost of two theater tickets but I'm not sure it's something I'm going to want to own. The trailers just make it look so bad. If you had told 12-year-old me that one day there would be a Jurassic Park 5 and I wouldn't be eager to check it out, I'd have said you were nuts, but here's the future. I need to just bite the bullet and Redbox it.

I'm sad to report my local Barnes & Noble has downsized their DVD/CD section and replaced it with a bunch of toys and board games (?).

It a few weeks I'll be getting the 4 Disc 4K Predator set that's coming out.

Well...after posting this I was able to Snag Black Panther & Infinity war Blu Ray for $7.00 each, but that was because my wife happened to be awake at the ungodly hour of 5am, because she was sick, and just happened to be looking at Amazon. None of the other Disney Movies (that I'm aware of), received just Huge Discounts.

Disney had sales for their Movie Club, but with the rumor of a Snow White to Moana 55 disc box set coming out on BD next year, I've pretty much stopped buying Disney movies.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever watched a David Lynch film in its entirety. Of course, I think I've only attempted to watch two of them.

David Lynch is the man.
Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Straight Story, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive.

Lost Highway is okay too. And Twin Peaks Fire Walk with Me, though that one only works in the context of the show...and for me, it's more of a bridge between the first two seasons and the third.

Dune is a complete and total mis-fire (though he had his name taken off of it because of all the meddling by Dino and it's credited to Alan Smithee) and Inland Empire is a stinkbomb.

But Elephant Man, Straight Story, Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart are CASH MONEY.
Gills.

Sooooooo this just came out yesterday, but Barnes & Noble had it on sale for 50% off today. That's less than what I paid for just 2 DVD volumes from this season.
