^that's ok, I prefer to purchase in store anyway, the problem is, I probably only purchase about 5-10 mainstream titles in any given year, most are niche that I have to get by other means such as Amazon, just thought it was weird, but now I know....

It's bs. Like Target had every Disney BD on sale for $17-20 last week, but they didn't have the ones I wanted to buy instock. I go to Amazon and they're not on sale at all.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space. I got my works bundle that gives you $7.50 to see Alien Convenant as well as mondo posters for Alien.

Got these today:

I guess Heart of Gold is some prequel that leads into Film Gold. Kind of weird that Funimation released it on its own instead of putting it in the regular box sets, but since I'm probably going to stop buying the anime at this point, that works for me. lol

Also, one minor nitpick towards the 08th MS Team BD. It's three discs, but they placed them as eps 1-6, 7-12, and Miller's Report. Given that Miller's Report takes place between episodes 8 and 9, I wish they had done it as 1-4, 5-8, Miller's Report-12.

True, but it was made after the series had concluded as a flashback/summary IIRC. There are a lot of anime long running series that have movies (or OVA) that take place during in-between series events, yet they are always placed separately. I'm just surprised they sold the Blu Ray set with MIller's Report, rather than a separate release.

Actually, no it wasn't. Miller's Report was made due to a long hiatus that was occuring between episodes 8 and 9. That is why of it is a clip show and half of it is new footage, including the return of Eledore. If you don't watch MR before episode 9, Eledore is just back without any rhyme or reason.

ok, makes sense. I just remember Bandai releasing it separately after they had released the initial DVD's of the entire series

Oh yeah, in the US they did release it after. However, when the series was coming out on VHS, it came out to hold people over after a year or more had gone by since episode 8 due to (I think) the director dying.

^ I remember when it original aired on Toonami they cut together a hybrid version that was all of episode 8 and some of Miller's Report so that the continuity would make sense.

It's been a rather long time since I've bought anything, but I did a runthrough of my wish-list the other day, and nothing really jumped out to me as something I needed to grab, and I'm getting to a point in my overall collection where it's pretty rare for me to buy a Blu-ray upon first release rather than waiting until a Black Friday type of sale knocks it down to like $12.
Gills.

I used to always have over 100 things on my wish list when I first started collecting. Even when I got stuff I'd just add more to the list. Now my wish list is like 30-40 things and I'm more concerned with stuff I love that hasn't been released yet. I'm just at the point where if I really wanted something and it has a release I probably already have it.

Anyway, as for today's purchase: here comes da ruckus!

I know the transfers are crummy, but after watching the first Police Story on Shout Factory's site (loaded to the brim with commercial interruptions I might add) I knew it was an essential.

Have you seen the gritty sequel that came out a few years back? Opening scene has Jackie Chan bruised and beaten put a gun to his head and pull the trigger.. it seemed so wrong to me

^ I believe that after Jackie did the four Police Story films in the '80s and '90s he's done two one-shot reboots in the new millennium; a grittier one and an even grittier one. Not really interested in 'em, but I am thinking about getting the HK release of Police Story 3!

I recently got Shout's BD releases of the first two Howling films. I haven't watched them yet probably will wait on that until Halloween time or later in the summer.
