Pretty sure they were talking about the Sony transfers that haven't made it to BD yet, like Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla '74 and Son of Godzilla. Sony may have let the home video rights lapse, but I bet they've got immaculate HD masters for those two much like how Kraken was apparently able to use the beautiful Sony transfers for Gigan, Sea Monster, and Smog Monster.

Oh.
Kraken's Sea Monster, Hedorah, and Gigan discs did include the 2004 Sony transfers but Kraken actually got those HD elements directly from Toho according to . Sony wouldn't have had any reason to keep their materials for those films after they decided to let their licenses expire without renewing them. They probably returned everything to Toho, which explains how Toho ended up providing those same transfers to Kraken, so Toho probably has Sony's transfers for Mechagodzilla and Son of Godzilla as well. It would be great if Funimation were to license those two films and release those high-quality transfers on BRD but that could theoretically happen with Kraken or Shout! Factory or any other studio that wants to go for it... except Media Blasters.

I have a feeling that Kraken has Son of Godzilla and MG74 they did say in the Sci-fi Japan interview last year they have some stuff in the works but can't annouce it yet. So those two would be the most logical choice. Either that or Orochii.

I might be in the minority, but I enjoyed the Anime trilogy. Any one know if/when Toho and Netflix's deal ends? I'd think someone would pick those three up for physical release.

^ No idea. It seems that most of their "Netflix original anime" are not really "Netflix originals" in the traditional sense and the deals will eventually expire.

Castlevania and several others already have teleases on physical media. I would think it's only a matter of time. As not really a fan, I just hope all 3 come in a single set rather than individual releases

^ Yeah, they may not be my favorite incarnation of the franchise, but as with Godzilla 1998 I definitely have to have them as a part of my collection.

I know the OP needs an update but one thing that I feel is worth mentioning is that Half Human is allegedly under Wade Williams' control. Now, anyone with any knowledge of Mr. Williams should know that his claims to some '50s genre films are dubious, and this may be the case with HH.

I am familiar with the 1990 Rhino VHS release, but (1998, Englewood) has me intrigued. Is this possibly a very early/obscure DVD release, late VHS release, or a release of the American cut in another country?
