Never heard of this one before. Did a quick looksee around the 'net. Definitely has promise and looks to be right up my (odd) alley. I'll hang back and see what reviewers say about Blu's video/audio quality once it hits the street, and then pick up a copy for myself. (Heck, the cast alone at the very least warrants a watch. Plus music by Hoyt Axton!)

^I love that second poster. It's beautiful, fits the film, and would fit wonderfully on a Blu-Ray cover!!!

This thread seems to have morphed from wish list to upcoming releases. Anyway, I finally saw the abomination of Digital Noise Reduction that is Predator on blu-ray, and suffice to say a decent release of this movie is still on my wish list. I know the characters are basically walking action figures, but surely their skin isn't supposed to look like featureless plastic.

Hmmm... I'll check mine. Apparently there's a cheap region free Spanish release if you need to replace yours.

That sounds very much like disc rot. It was a lot more common problem with laserdiscs. On DVD and blu ray it seemed to be almost completely eradicated but it does still happen sometimes. As far as I remember, no one
really knows for certain what causes it (though there are some credible theories), but it seems the tighter the tolerances and higher the "clean room" standards at the factory, the less likely disc rot is to appear. Thus, laserdiscs pressed in Japan were usually considered the safest long term to avoid disc rot.
Anyway, take a VERY careful look at the readable side under really good light. If you see any tiny dots or little circles that are on the shiny surface, but INSIDE or under the outer plastic coating, it's disc rot. Also, if you hold the disc up to the light and can see little pin pricks of light shining through... it's rot. In its early stages it can be very tough to see but it can still make a disc nearly unplayable. As it progresses, it WILL render the disc completely unusable.

Well, as soon as I came home from work, I decided to take your advice canofhumdingers, and put the disc under bright lights to see if there were any signs of rot. I really could not find any. I gave it another cleaning and played it again. I got the same results. I then decided to play the disc in another blu-ray player and lo and behold, it was running perfectly!
My guess is that it may not be the disc at all but rather my blu-ray player which somehow is affecting the discs. I will most likely give the player a very thorough cleaning, or just buy a new one. At this stage of the game, they are probably now cheaper than purchasing a limited run Twilight Time blu-ray!

Yes, if it used to work in that player, and the disc looks undamaged, it's probably an issue with the drive's lens, exacerbated by a manufacturing flaw that might have always been on the disc. Dust and grease on the lens are a possibility, but it's a general problem with optical drives that the lens can decalibrate over time due to repeated heating and cooling. This is a more common problem with game consoles, where a lot of high performance (ie. gets really hot) components are crammed into the smallest case possible, often with a power supply unit integrated. There are guides to adjusting drive potentiometers to recalibrate drives, but for a generic player it nay not be worth the effort.

I've posted about this in other threads, but it just kinds of irritates me, that with every new Spider-Man film, the opportunity is missed to release the 1994 Fox show on DVD (or now Blu Ray). I know some people say this show has not aged well, but after seeing Homecoming this weekend, I started watching it again (unscrupulously online as that is the only current way to see it), and it still looks great. In 65 episodes they delved deeper into many of Spider-Man's villains than Ultimate did in 104, and the stories were written so much better. I would love to have a beautiful Blu-Ray set of this series.
Btw...I know there used to be a site that had breakdowns and statistics of the highest demanded TV shows that are unreleased on DVD/BluRay, but I can no longer find it. If anyone else has a link it would be appreciated. Thank you

^ yes but it was never free. It was also on Netflix for a couple of years. Sorry...I'm not paying for something digital I should be able to have a physical copy of and take wherever I want, also because of some *licensing snafu* could randomly disappear without any notice, even though I paid for it.

Hrm....Id be way more into it if they let me actually download it to my own device and/or allow it to be burned to a DVD. I've just heard too many bad things from services (iTunes for example) where content you actually purchase can disappear. Makes me sad. I hate to support bootleggers/pirates, but when they give you what you want, for less money, and in better quality, it makes it hard not to buy form them.
