I'd love a Blu-ray of Prophecy. Alligator is a movie I haven't seen since I was a kid

Apparently, the first pressings of the Creature From the Black Lagoon set have a flawed transfer of Revenge of the creature... at least of the 3D version? Universal is apparently doing a replacement program, so you might want to wait on picking that up.

Satanic Rites is huge! WB had that and Golden Vampires but may have never released them theatrically in the States. Every version of either film since have been from the edited Milton Subtosky releases (“Count Dracula and His Vampire Bride” and “The 7 Brothers and Their One Sister Meet Dracula” [what a title!!!]) or duped from the so-so Anchor Bay video releases.

Of the four (five with Golden Vampires) ‘70s Hammer Draculas, Rites is my favorite. I think it’s easily the better of the two “mod” Dracula films they produced.

Yes, and Warner Archives is also releasing "Bad Ronald". I remember seeing that as a young child when it premiered on ABC back in 1974. With that, "The Night Stalker" features, and "Trilogy of Terror", glad to see that these great ABC made-for-TV features are finally getting their blu-ray due!

Sony releasing the NotLD remake on Blu in Oct. Seems all the notable Twilight Time exclusives get wide releases later when studios realize there is still money to be made!

So what's the chance of a big Hammer Horror set like the Universal Classic Monsters one?

^ Nil. The Hammer Studios films are split up amongst too many Distributors here in the United States. Curse of Frankenstein and Horror of Dracula still haven't been released on Blu by WB because they need the most restoration work. The best news is that Shout Factory now is working with one of rights holders that supposedly has about a dozen Hammer classics (hopefully The Devil Rides Out and the second and third Quatermass films are among them).

This probably merits its own topic but where the heck does one even start with the Hammer films? There seems to be too many of them to keep track of with ease.

Most people start with the two most popular series (Frankenstein and Dracula) and just work from there.

The Frankenstein movies follow Dr. Frankenstein (played by Peter Cushing) as he does some crazy new experiment each movie (as opposed to following the Monster like the Universal films do) :

The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) (with Christopher Lee as the monster)
The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958)
The Evil of Frankenstein (1964)
Frankenstein Created Woman (1967)
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969)
The Horror of Frankenstein (1970) (reboot with younger actors)
Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974) (Cushing returns one last time)

The Dracula movies almost all have Christopher Lee as Dracula and several have him playing off of Peter Cushing as Van Helsing

Horror of Dracula (1958)
The Brides of Dracula (1960) (no Dracula, but Van Helsing vs. new vampires)
Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966) (Lee finally coaxed back into reprising the role)
Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968)
Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970)
Scars of Dracula (1970)
Dracula A.D. 1972 (1972) (jumps to modern day setting)
The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973)
The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires (1974) (co-production with Shaw Bros. Studio mixing horror with martial arts. Lee declined to return, so another actor plays Dracula)

Continuity is spotty for both series. Sometimes they continue directly from the last movie, but the sequels often retcon or reboot or simply play fast and loose with the events of previous films.

Others movies I'd really recommend:

The Mummy (1958) (official remake of Universal's first two Kharis films, with Cushing as an archeologist and Lee as Kharis, the mummy)
The Curse of the Werewolf (1961) (Oliver Reed plays a far more accurate to folklore werewolf)
The Devil Rides Out (1968) (Christopher Lee in a rare heroic role fights satanist sorcery with white magic, almost like a Christian-y version of Dr. Strange)
Quatermass and The Pit (1967) (based off the early British TV series that prefigured Doctor Who about a scientist that fights off alien threats. This one is an early 'ancient aliens' plot with the aliens being what shaped our idea of demons. Might be my favorite Hammer movie)

The wikipedia page does a good job of breaking up the movies into various groups as well as the standalone films:

Speaking of Hammer has Curse of the Werewolf gotten a Blu-ray release in the US yet? I have that on some Hammer DVD collection that I want to say Sony put out and I'd love to upgrade to a BD copy of the film.

Also what about the Creature Legacy set any idea on when that will go back into print with the corrected BD for the last film? I want to pick that up because its the only Legacy set I'm missing save for The Mummy set.

Fantastic! TCM showed it not too long ago. I missed it, but I understand that it was a better print than usual, and when that happens, a blu-ray is not too far off!

Not really a wish, but kind of impressed that they're doing it, but Disney is releasing a box set of all their animated movies.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/AS ... gHmRKdCC8E

55 discs. If I didn't have so many of them already this would be tempting.

^Nice, and it can keep the claim of "fully animated' and complete. Hybrid films like Mary Poppins, Bednobs and Broomsticks, and the Highly problematic Song of the South are not considered part of this, so I like the angle, even though i'm not a big Disney can, the idea pf having a collection like this is intriguing.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Kino working on bringing one of my favorite unavailable (aside from TCM airings) films to Blu-ray: 1945's Dead of Night!
