The delete key has serious firepower, enough to wipe out several city blocks in one shot. But this subforum has physical fortitude and, due to the arena, a certain amount of camouflage. In the end, though, the subforum doesn't do much to fight back. I'm betting on the delete key.

The Hedorah Cat vs The G'14 Dog thread has given me hope for this sub forum

Fantasy Match subforums should be wiped from the face of the earth.

Honestly the forum could probably be condensed into Godzilla and Kaiju stuff and non Kaiju stuff forums and nothing would be lost. Facebook is siphoning away all the new blood. Most of the Facebook groups though are awful.

I think some things could be streamlined (Ultraman and "Japanese Heroes" could probably be condensed into one, the Japanese Sci-Fi and Horror and Asian Films in General thread could probably get folded into the Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy Films and Television sub forum, the "Monster Island Tours" area could probably all just get melded together, and the whole art sub-forum could probably just become "Art. Of all kinds: pictures, videos, writings, etc"), but I don't mind the way Godzilla, Gamera, and others are separated...I like popping in and seeing "Oh, there's a Showa discussion going on" or "Hey, we've got people debating the merits of the Heisei era" or "Look! Possible news about the new movie?!?!" with relative ease.

I'll throw out some feelers about condensing some stuff to the admins, though and see what they say and what happens. It might not get done, even if they think it's a good idea, as there might have been some attempts to do so in the past that did not end well or something.


In ANY EVENT, I say keep this sub-forum...because of threads like this.


And yeah, the Facebook groups are pretty much universally awful. Sucks too, because I know there are people like those of us here who aren't specifically on here who are "out there" and I'd definitely like to be able to chat with them, since chatting with you guys is mostly fun, but it's hard to find everyone who's cool in the sea of people who think that fan-art for Biollante is concept art for the new film.

Biollante is going to be in the new movie! Thats huge!

I appreciate the overall simplicity of MZ, but I do agree the forum could do with some streamlining. I also feel that a larger icon on the main site could entice more to join in on conversations. I know some probably like that MZ is less busy compared to other forums, but we could do for some new members to stir up discussion. In the wake of Pac Rim, G2014, even Jurassic World that should be easy.

Condensing sub-forums never came to mind exactly, but some of the sub-forum descriptions could do with updating (or at least simplifying).
