DC Comics is releasing a three volume collection of Jiro Kuwata's Batman manga which was put out in Japan during the 1966-67 Bat-Craze there. I'm about 2/3 of the way through Vol 1 (Vol 2 is due out July 14) and it is a fun read! Action is not stinted on and the villains are interesting and unique (with the exception of Go Go the Magician, who looks and has the abilities of the Weather Wizard) The artwork is very good as well. I'm not sure if this is the first adaptation of a U.S. hero to manga, but it's worth checking out if your a Bat-fan or a fan of Mr. Kuwata's work. (he created The Phantom Detective, wrote the manga adaptation of Moonlight Mask, and co-created 8Man)
