[quote]If you haven’t been living under a rock, every one of your nerdy friends has told you by now that Toonami returned last night on Cartoon Network. Steve Blum returned to once again voice TOM, and numerous classic Toonami anime were shown during the Adult Swim block.
While this was a great nostalgic surprise, it left many wondering if this was just for tonight, or would Toonami return next Saturday? Steve Blum released an official statement on his twitter saying that the Cartoon Network block is not back for good, and if fans want it they should do something about it.
“For the record, Wikipedia, I did NOT say it’s here to stay…But I sure hope so. Let ‘em know you want it, people.
Late. End Transmission. XO

Rally the troops! Let's take back the night with Toonami's Midnight Run too.
The only thing I watch on Adult Swim is some of the anime series on Saturday nights -- but right now Bleach is the only series with "new" episodes.

Panty and Stocking belongs on Adult Swim.
But I sent my feedback. If nothing else I'd love it if Tenchi Muyo would get shown again. I used to be obsessed with that as a kid.

I think Outlaw Star was the winner of the night. People had forgotten how good it was! That's why I think an uncut version is a no-brainer for "Toonami on Adult Swim."
Apparently Funimation has the rights to the old Tenchi shows but doesn't actually have copies yet (hence the appearance of the mediocre OVA 3 on the surprise Toonami broadcast). They're supposedly being remastered in their native Japan.

Cool, I'd love for funimation to release the original shows on dvd.

[quote]When Cartoon Network aired Toonami as an April Fools joke, many fans were left with excitement and disappointment. Fans were excited because for one day they were able to watch their favorite anime shows, just like the old days. Fans were disappointed because it was a big tease. Ever since then there has been a big movement from fans to try to bring Toonami back.
Now with a movement like this, don’t you think we need an official anthem? Nercore rapper Richard Branson has taken it upon himself to create a rap song about his love for Toonami. This is a very “dopeâ€

If they do bring back Toonami it will probably be a mix of both old & new shows.
Most of the stuff they showed on Toonami had never been seen in the USA on TV (sure it was on DVD). With a few minor exceptions like Thundercats.
