Also, the 3:30 to 6:00 programming was originally done at Cartoon Network's request, with the return of Toonami planned as a 3/3.5 hour block.

It would be nice if Toonami could secure Gundam Wing. I missed seeing GW when Toonami (or was it CN general?) ran the show initially, and I recall it being a well regarded Gundam series.

Would be nice if older shows were under consideration, but the biggest hurdle there is that there is often no dub available and Toonami really needs to be able to run a dubbed show for maximum audience draw. That said, if everything aligned to make it possible it would be really cool to see Mazinger Z running on Toonami and other super robot series such as even the entire Robot Romance Trilogy (Combattler V, Voltes V, and Brave Leader Daimos).

With a Pacific Rim sequel and animated series, Legendary Godzilla sequel, Toho Godzilla movie, and new King Kong all on the way I would not be surprised if Toonami picked up a super robot series/OVA.

Aww no more "new" One Piece episodes? I hope OP will return with new episodes later in the year.

Will this be the 3rd or 4th restart of Attack on Titan, Toonami just restarted AoT last week and I believe Toonami has done two full runs through of available episodes.

From what I understand the anime diverges wildly from the manga around episode 20 or so (somewhere around then, I don't remember exactly).

The new season is currently in production in Los Angeles at Cartoon Network Studios.

Awesome news! I hope this new season of Samurai Jack will put pressure on whoever currently has the movie rights to stop sitting on them.

I do hope that even though in the new season will air on the Adult Swim-Toonami block that they'll keep the show within the same tone range as the original. This way CN can freely run it during the day too {maybe even along with the new episode Thursday stuff as there are not always new episodes running in the block} and hopefully build a new generation of fans.

I haven't watched a whole Toonami broadcast in a good long while, but I caught most of yesterday's and I have to admit that this is probably one of the best lineups in the block's almost two-decade history. Michiko & Hatchin is especially great. I've missed a whole bunch of episodes and I'm not quite sure what the plot is... but still: it's awesome! You got Dragon Ball Z still holding things down, Parasyte is decent, and I'm sure if I was 13 years old One Piece would be a favorite (as it is, Dragon Ball is sort of enshrined as 'my shonen series' and I'm just not inspired enough to dive into the hundreds of episode of One Piece). Also, Naruto is still on... meh.

I've just now started Kill La Kill on Netflix, continuing my tradition of always being about two years behind.

Cool, nice seeing a Gundam show return to Toonami. It'd be great if they also pick up an older Gundam series eventually too, particularly Gundam Wing which I missed the first time it ran on Toonami (and I don't recall it ever getting a repeat airing).

Hey! Toonami is 20 years old! There's all sorts of retrospectives and stuff popping up for it. Crazy to think it's been back on TV for longer than the period then it was cancelled (though I rarely watched it those last few years).

Right now the block has a strong lineup, but I'm more of a casual viewer with only Super a must-watch, but man: if I was 13 this lineup would be my favorite thing ever.
