I've tried unsuccessfully in the past to get my son into Gundam, which I understand, its a lot to take in. Fortunately he's been getting into SRW games with me lately, so he showed enough interest in Gundam Unicorn to watch the series(mostly because he saw it on Netflix, even though i have it on DVD...)
I admit it's an odd place to start, but I don't think any of us western fans can complain, most got their start with Gundam Wing on Toonami in 2000. I personally saw my first Gundam film (F91) in 1993-1994 (somewhere around there) and saw 0080,0083, and the original MS Gundam 3-film series all before the craze of *Wing* in 2000.
We binged through Unicorn the past couple of days, then I showed him a Youtube video of most of the different Gundam opening sequences. He wanted to try G Gundam. This series for me is totally fun, so we watched the first dozen or so episodes yesterday. He seems to be enjoying it.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.
