Crazy that it was a decade ago, around this time, that I was devouring RAWs of this series. Wish someone would just license these shows and put them on DVD though.

It will be great to watch this in better quality. It's the first Ultraman series that I watched to completion but the encodes were pretty bad at the time.

Doesn't this continue from a movie? I wonder if Tsuburaya will start putting any of the Ultraman films on Crunchyroll?

Yeah, Nexus continues from Ultraman: the Next - although I haven't seen the latter yet, and the show stands on its own fine.

If Crunchyroll started licensing Ultra movies I'd geek out (again).

Gah, please mark your spoilers about the biggest twist in the series. Fortunately, I've already seen the show, but this will a lot of people's first time watching it.

For those interested in Ultraman the Next, the Japanese DVD is still available (just titled Ultraman, to make things extra confusing), is pretty cheap, and has English subtitles. I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Nexus though.

Finished Gaia (what a great show!), watched The Next last night (liked it more than I thought I would) and now it's time for Nexus!

Man, I don't care what anyone says. The Next is really one of the best entries in the franchise TPC has ever produced.

I'm at episode 10, and I went to the wikipedia page to get all the main characters' names straight and I ended up getting massively spoiled.

Man, I've watched 11 episodes of Nexus since my last post a day and a half ago. My conclusions: this show was tailor made for binging. I mean, it's hard to resist when practically every episode ends with a cliffhanger. Also, despite the various plot twists and dark turns I feel that the show feels more and more like an Ultraman show as it goes on. Like they're building up or reintroducing the 'Ultraman-ness' over time.

I've been re-watching bits of this and....it's weird. Such a toss up between this and Max. I think both are perfect at what they do. You just pick what suits your mood at the time.


Although if I'm doing Ultra series in general the original Ultra Q is hard to beat.
