Hot damn! Love how they put these high episode count shows that they only have in standard definition on Blu-Ray so that they can have an entire series on just a couple of discs. Awesome idea, I wonder when other distributors will catch on?

They also announced Galaxy Express 999 the TV series (WOOHOO!), the Giant Robo ova ( which is apparently a classic, very interested in seeing it), and the Message From Space TV show (another toku). Discotek is killing it!

^ I had no idea there was a Message from Space series. I'm game to try it. Definitely grabbing Juspion

I've never even heard of whatever Message from Space is.

It's Japan's bootleg Star Wars!

I'm just so freakin' jazzed for like half a dozen Discotek releases.

Has anyone heard or read ANYTHING about a firm release date for Juspion???

I am very amped for this. Hopefully sales will be more than good enough for these guys to pursue other tokusatsu titles. It would be awesome to see the Rescue Trilogy and perhaps... (fingers crossed) picking up some (or all) of the Kamen Rider shows.

I haven't seen it up for pre-order anywhere :-/

With these Discotek releases we'll probably have a pre-order and release date announcement just a few weeks before it comes out. I have no idea why that's the case with this company, maybe something to do with the fact that it's a rather small one and they just know that their products will be ready when they're ready instead of giving firm release dates that they can be late on?

Right now I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it until the Fall. Discotek is quite slow when it comes to releasing things they've announced.

I could've sworn I saw something somewhere about a late January release, so that's why I was chomping at the bit. It isn't listed anywhere for pre-order (I checked Amazon and they show NOTHING for the character) so I thought I'd drop by here and see if anyone had the scoop. Guess I'll just keep waiting impatiently for more news. Thanks guys!

I'm a little concerned about discotek overall. Unlike Media Blasters, they've always been reliable, even if releases take time. Since Jan 1, the news section of their site has been down

^ Probably a better idea to just follow their social media. For instance, they just tweeted that the Galaxy Express 999 movies will be released in about six weeks.

They finally did link their news to their FB page. however I'm not on any social media websites, however at least this way, i can look at the front of their FB page without having to login or anything.

Also, was Juspion one of the shows used to make VR Troopers? One would have thought S!F would have picked that up....

Nope. Metalder, Space Sheriff Shaider, and Spielban made up VRT. Juspion was the series before Spielban.

This is my most anticipated release since Criterion released the original Godzilla. Space Kamen Rider versus Vader Gundam and his evil kaiju army is my favorite concept for a tokusatsu series... basically ever. Also, I know this was made before most Millennials were born but there is one incredible episode where the main villain weaponizes Japan's young adult population that basically feels like Juspion versus the Millennials and I love it so much.

I just preordered it from Rightstuff. $32 is not a bad price at all. Guess I won't be reviewing Jiban this summer after all though.

Meaning?? Is Discotek working on (or considering) Jiban as well?!? (Though I'd really prefer Janperson.)

No, Metallic Fansubs just recently finished subbing Jiban, so I was planning to review that late in the summer, but now I'll just hold off so I can focus on Juspion.

Got my preorder in, I'm mostly unfamiliar with this franchise, so this should be fun (now if only we could get more Garo)

Yeah, I don't know what the hold up on Garo is, especially considering there's just the one movie left to finish off Kouga's story.

I see where this is finally listed on Amazon... currently listing for $35.37, with an August 27th release date. Very excited. :D
