Kaiju no Kami Reviews - Chojin Sentai Jetman (1991) Series

With Soda's departure Toei decided it was time to put Sentai to rest with one final series, a tribute to the first series Soda ever worked on, Gatchaman, and thus Chojin Sentai Jetman was born. Keita Amemiya was hired to be the show's director while writer Toshiki Inoue was given the reigns of being the head writer. Of course, as we all know, Jetman was not the swan song of the franchise due to its immense success. Is this series worthy of its reputation? Watch to find out.

Jetman was the last Sentai series to not get a full Power Rangers version, until Go-Busters.

Two discs into the DVD from Shout! and there seems to be this blur motion issue going on every now and then as if the frame rate drops out for a second or two. It's nothing horrible, but I don't remember it doing that on the fansubs from GUIS.

Shout! Factory has recently released the 1991 series Chojin Sentai Jetman on DVD, which brings us our first Pre-Zyuranger Sentai series in the US. Since I had already reviewed Jetman previously, this review is just on the DVD itself.

I'm currently watching this via the TUBI Streaming Service (free with ads).
So far (up to around the episode with the diamond monster) it's pretty fun.
Must say the ladies are nice looking, and the action looks pretty impressive.
Though it is kinda odd seeing a show that was "for kids" having smoking/drinking and lots of romantic stuff (like arranged marriage & possible love triangles).

I guess I was more used to the various Power Rangers versions.
I did get up to the Teddy Bear episode, and it was very fun.
It also was a bit sad, most little kids have had a favorite stuffed animal.
Mine was a rabbit.

Not sure if it's a glitch with Tubi, but a few episodes (around episode 30) were out of order.
For example they showed the episode with the 2 demons that made people turn into pineapples before the episode prior to that with the demon looking for strong fighters to resurrect those demons.
