Monster Zero x SciFi Japan - Archive Only

Ultraman X has been registered by Tsuburaya and a toy catalog confirms it as well. Still waiting on an official announcement from Tsuburaya.

Here's hoping it's a return to the quality of the mid-2000s series.

I can't say I'm a huge Ultra fan, but the bits I have seen are pretty fun. I need to start watching 80 again - the miniatures are great in the first few episodes.

Certain kaiju return as "cyber" kaiju and fuse with the Ultraman? I dig it. It's got a Gridman vibe.

Grrrr I don't like the looks of it.

Tsuburaya or whomever owns the majority stake in them now has taken Ultraman too far away from his original roots imo.

All I can hope for at this point is that we'll get to see the original series released on proper blu-ray here in the United States.

Has a Ginga aesthetic to it that worries me. Looks like card based power-ups will be the theme this go around.

I like the design - the head reminds me of Tiga while the body's cybernetic feels reminds me of good ol' Gridman. Looks like we're getting cybernetic version of classic monsters such Cyber Gomora, Cyber Bemstar and Cyber Eleking. Ultraman X in Gomora armour just screams War Greymon to me, wonder if Bandai did that purposely if the henshin device is supposely called Xdevicer. XDD

Since Bandai own the other half of Tsuburaya (after FIELDS Corp - the majority shareholder) , and seemed to be the more active partner, it's not much wonder if they are still continuing the successful trend of selling more toys and toys since that is the strategy that helped Tsuburaya inc broke free from it's previous state of insolvency.

KIYOTAKA TAGUCHI IS THE LEAD DIRECTOR. INSTANTLY HYPED.

Based on that they have signed on for the show, Ultraman X looks like it could be pretty damn good. I just hope that the gimmick for this year doesn't distract from the show too much. The Spark Dolls always took me out of any Ginga episode.

Disappoint that Daichi uses a spark doll to transform but I'm generally digging most everything else about this so far. I LOVE the cyber kaiju armors. LOVE.

Wow. There is not a single thing in any of those photos that appeals to me at all.

I really, really dislike the direction they're taking this franchise in. It's getting to the point where it no longer really looks like Ultraman anymore.

Looks like Ultraman to me.

It will be interesting to see where UX goes. It's certainly a unique concept.
