So Ultraman Ginga S isn't, like, truly astounding in any sense of the word but in its first two episodes it's managed to be a fairly solid show, which is a HUGE step up from how bad Ginga's first series was.
Two thoughts: One, it still really frustrates me that Ginga was so poorly-executed as the concept of a rural, more personal Ultra series is not unappealing to me. Done well it could be, like, a lovely cross between Ultraman and My Neighbor Totoro. But, alas. Two, even though Ginga S isn't MIND-BLOWING or anything, it's SUPER-nice to see extensive miniature sets from a televised Ultra series for the first time... uh, since Mebius, really. Right? The sets aren't quite as nice as some of those in previous series but I'm just grateful that the infrastructure is being rebuilt.
