That would indeed be a great film. I have seen that Max episode, though it's been awhile, and remember enjoying the heck out of it.

I too, am getting sick of all these huge event movies. It feels like something Marvel or DC would do in their comics right now or in the early 90s.

I'm inclined to give Battle in Hyperspace another chance. My major problem with the Ultraman films is that most of the time they're just rehashes of the same, tired formula. Maybe I'll get into that more later.
