I've seen a few episodes raw. It's certainly not lacking in atmosphere and mood. I really liked what I saw, and I too am disappointed in it's lack of quality subs amongst the fansubbers, and the lack of exposure it seems to get.

I know Jim knows a lot more about the series, so hopefully he'll pop in.

Twelve years later and the majority of this show has finally been fansubbed. I'm about eight or nine episodes in and it's been pretty fantastic.
