i saw this series listed the other day as a "bomb" with regards to viewership. I didn't think Netflix released its numbers, but has something come out about this that would cast doubt on a second season?

I heard it was a big hit and Netflix announced a second season almost immediately?

I feel like nobody knows anything about whether a Netflix show is a "bomb" or a hit or anything...except for Netflix. And even then, it's hard to know what they gauge as 'success'

Interesting, I was wondering if it was going to get a 2nd season or not, as I had not heard anything. It was OK, Not great. Of course it would stink if the cliffhanger ending didn't get resolved, but it wouldn't be the first time a new show or movie ended that way, banking on *resolution* to get a 2nd season, only for it not to happen. As wooden as the Robot was, that was pretty much the best part of the show. I know a lot of people are enamored with Dr. Smith, I'm not sold on her. Psycho, murderous, delusional, habitual liar, who genuinely believes they are in the right, will only get you so far.

Also there have been some genuinely awful shows on Netflix that have gone on, so I imagine the bar is pretty low. Still I keep waiting for, as one fan/critic says, *the other shoe to drop*, Netflix is spending seemingly limitless amounts of money in developing original programming, purchasing films that might otherwise go straight to cinema, & in a HUGE financial debt...this cannot go on indefinitely.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Yeah, she’s not my favorite kind of villain. But she is a good villain in the sense that I absolutely loathe the character as a person. She makes me feel like my blood pressure goes up and my body tenses just by being on screen because I dislike her so much. And they could not have done a better job casting her. The actress does an absolutely incredible job with the material.

They're following the Amazon model. Amazon made a profit for the first time like...last year.

Yeah but Amazon is still primarily about providing goods. The streaming and programming has only been around a couple years, I'm sure that's not what made them profitable, and I hope they are not banking on it for the future. I got Prime for the free shipping, not for the content, and while I have enjoyed some of what they had on steaming, none of it was their original content. Also I plan on dropping Prime after having it for 3 years, when my service time ends, because they are raising rates.

If Netflix continues to *raise rates*: slowly, sure I could see it like a frog in the frying pan scenario, I know they raised mine from $8, to 10, now 11. But if they start throwing in adds to the mix, I'll cut it instantly. Basically raising the rates a dollar a year isn't a long-term viable plan, they'll have to do something more drastic, unfortunately it may cause them to lose way more customers than they gain.

The model though is to spend a lot early, and invest, and get as many customers as possible, then you can even out on the spending and have customers already using your product.

You're dropping Prime. Good for you. MOST people aren't.

Netflix's plan is to create as much content as possible, because everyone is getting into streaming, and once the cords have all been cut and streaming is what 90% of people do, they plan on having the largest customer base. They're not STUPID. This isn't some two-bit organization that isn't aware of how much money they're spending.

you mean like...Image

I also think it's way to early say what % of people will be dropping Amazon Prime (I'm sure its more than just a few). It's a pretty steep price increase just for free shipping, and their original content doesn't have anything even remotely interesting

Hopefully some characters can charm me in this next season other than Will and Penny.
