He was super solid in 'The Guest' .. i'm definitely intrigued with this film, I really liked Timecrimes, but i came into that with no knowledge or expectations

The Hollywood Reporter:
Toho alleged that producers of 'Colossal' were selling the film without regards to its intellectual property.

Pure publicity. More people have heard about this movie than they would have if it was just a small-budget "Anne Hathaway monster movie"

I have such a bad feeling for the actual kaiju scenes in this. Just judging from all the media and such, he's not going to know what he's doing.

Go watch Timecrimes.
The director makes large concept films with a small budget and does so very well.

Wow, does a pretty nice job of explaining the premise - and the monster looks pretty cool!

^It looks like an Ultraman kaiju.
The 'Timecrimes' filmmaker also talks about working with Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, his love of ‘Better Call Saul’, and a lot more.

Full length trailer. Lots of monster stuff, but I think lacks the punch that first teaser had.
Still, looks neat. The early reviews I read said the monster looked like an insect? That doesn't really jive with what I'm seeing.

It's so weird that regular folks are using the word 'kaiju' and view it as a legitimate genre now. I don't think I'll ever get over it.
Kind of off topic, but I feel this film is a symptom of that.
