^'Breakneck' was a poor choice of words. What I mean is that in Season 1 there was always a goal that everyone was striving for and the show was constantly escalating. Each episode just raised the dial a bit more. Season 2, however, lays out all the pieces in the first several episodes and but things start exploding in episode 6.

Kali's group was so stereotypical it was cringeworthy, almost as bad as "That 80's show" (really bad "70's show" spinoff). As a personal note, I was 11-12 years old at the timesetting of the series events (almost as the protagonists) and i don't remember anybody with those looks, but then again, i grew up on southamerica where the sense of fashion was much more on the side of the Hawkins's kids. And about old videogames at the arcade, i digged some Q*bert and Scramble better than Dig-Dug

^ Kali's group seemed to me to be be playing on both The Warriors and '80s X-Men comics (remember, an X-Men issue was a plot point in Season 1).

There may be some more things, but I haven't finished season 2 yet. But I'm surprised at how painstakingly accurate they have tried to get everything to look and feel 1984 (Unlike say, the Goldbergs which is just kind of randomly all over the place, and has some glaring inconsistencies). I've heard there may be a few post-84 cars that slipped in, but I hadn't noticed. The only glaringly blatant one I've noticed is when they say "Easy-peasy"...that was NOT a saying when I was a kid. I was 8 in 1984, so while I was slightly younger than the protagonists of this series, it sits very well with me.

I guess no one read my wall of text above. Easy peasy can be traced back at least to an American film from the 40's, which means it's probably quite a bit older.

This season was terrific, but it was not without its flaws.

First off, Hopper was an utter "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" the entire season. It really took him away from being my favorite character of the show. Fortunately,

I loved the three subplots that were happening as it really kept the show engaging and it didn't just repeat the same steps the first two did. On the other hand, doing jackshit with the plot from Episode 7 of Season 2 makes that episode utterly worthless as there was no payoff for it. I think my favorite of the subplots was Dustin's with the underground lab.

Robin was the stand out character for me. I'm amazed at how great she could act. She clearly gets it from her mom and not her dad. The character was well written too as I loved how Not to mention that she had really great chemistry with Steve, who was really good this time around too.

I do have to say that Mike and Lucas did jack "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" this entire season, which was disappointing. Mike's entire purpose for existing was

The reporter people all got what they deserved.

It was nice that they actually did something with Billy this season. It was fitting and

Cary Elwes was wasted.

Overall, like I said, it was an excellent season. I also love how conclusive it feels. If you were to shut it off before the credit scene, it would make for the perfect series finale. I just don't see what more they can do with these characters at this point. I feel like they have all been taken as far as they can go. Also, how much more can Hawkins take before the residence stop being a bunch of "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" blind ass idiots?

I finished Season 3 last night I did two episodes a night as to not over do it. Overall I thought the season was great and can't wait for season 4 which may or may not be the final season. I kind of hope it is that it doesn't suffer from most shows that go on too long like Game of Thrones, True Blood, etc. etc.

That obviously was the reality, but the *effect* was supposed to be that of a motorized toy. And yes it's definitely Summer 1985, The First episode starts on 6/28/85 IIRC. (well after the initial scene with the Russians)

The kids sneak in to see Day of the Dead at the Mall theater on 6/30/85 (the day it came out), and Back to the Future came out on 07/03/85, then of course the fair on July 4th. Yeah i know, its kind of sad that I remember the dates and nostalgic things more than the characters in the show... .

It's just that 1984-1986 were especially memorable years for me, I was between the ages of 8 and 10, but a lot of really cool stuff happened. My Aunt & Uncle took me on a cross-country road trip in the summer of 1985, which lasted almost 3 weeks. I remember my parents telling me they went to see Back to the Future while I was gone, and I had no idea what that even was, and didn't really care until I saw it on cable probably a year later.

I've never seen Day of the Dead either...but I remember people talking about it. Also I'm not one to criticize if someone hasn't seen an extremely popular movie (There's a several I haven't seen either), but Back to the Future doesn't disappoint. The sequels definitely have their flaws, but they are imaginative. Definitely though give the first film a chance if you ever have the time. My kids obviously have no nostalgic ties to them, but even they really enjoy the first film.

I wouldn’t say either actor was wasted. The show already has all its main stars. I think it’s awesome that they’re able to get great actors even in the smaller roles. Plus, I think both Elwes and Busey did wonderfully in their respective roles. They each nailed the character they were meant to portray. I think it elevates the show as a whole when even less important stuff is of high quality.

I finished season three earlier this week and I’m just amazed they’ve been able keep the fire lit like this. I loved season one (as pretty much everyone did) but I feared it was a one trick pony. But season 2 proved that these characters are endearing enough and the writers are skilled enough to continue weaving engaging tales of suspense. And season 3 is no exception. I loved every minute of it! And the creature this time was flipping AWESOME!



If I had to offer any critiques it would be the cgi fireworks looked really fake. Really, *that’s* my biggest complaint this season.

Looking forward to season 4! I do t know if that’ll be the final season or not but I do hope they find a satisfying way to conclude the show before it becomes stale or descends into crummy writing. It’s so good it needs to go out on a high note!
