Cinematic Universe's are becoming a bit of a fad.

Just wait until you see the General Mills monster-themed breakfast cereals cinematic universe.

Oh for **** sake.

This isn't exactly new, just a more fleshed out detail from news first announced well over a year ago. Gotta strike while the Iron is hot. I really don't mind. Being #3 (Behind Marvel & DC, and in development before LP's Godzilla/Kong CU), The more time they spend in development, the better. To be sure, some of the names attached don't instill all the confidence in the world. But better to take their time. I'm sure they are taking more queues from Marvel's success than from DC's missteps. There is a HUGE following of fans for the 80's toy/animation/comic properties, and bringing them together like this will be interesting to see how it all plays out. In July, all of IDW's Transformers series are having special alternate covers for ROM Space Knight.

Hmmm... well, so much for ROM making an appearance in one of the Guardians of The Galaxy sequels.

Without Marvel flat-out buying all rights to ROM, i'd be surprised he ever makes another appearance. They've been removing him from reprints at this point.

I loved M.A.S.K. when I was a little kid, I'd be curious to see what they do with that.

I liked the show as a kid as well. I even have the series on DVD. sadly it does not hold up well as others like Transformers or GI Joe. If the IDW comic is any indication, I don't think they could do it justice. It would just look like a generic cross between Transformers and GI Joe, and none f the characters would resemble their original versions.

As long as they steer clear of anything that smells of Michael Bay's influence, I'd be interested to see a MASK or Visionaries movie. MASK is another shot at getting a fun transforming vehicles movie after the growing gloom of the Murderformers movies, so hopefully T-Bob won't pull a switchblade and start sawing someone's ear off. As for Visionaries, the original cartoon was pretty neat, and we don't get enough stuff with holograms these days.

This is what Paramount does after their attempt at a Transformers Cinematic Universe fell flat with The Last Knight, in the same year that Justice League sold the fewest tickets of the DC Films Universe, and the same year that domestic audiences rejected Universal's Dark Universe from the start. This is how Paramount is going to bounce back from their two-year streak of mostly struggling at the box office, with a Hasbro Cinematic Universe.

Keep the budgets significantly under $100 million and they'll do fine - with these crazy budgets Justice League needed $600 million just to break even

I don't think it can really be called a "Hasbro Cinematic Universe" unless it features the full breadth of their properties: G.I. Joe meets Furby! Transformers get sucked into the Monopoly game! Dungeons and Dragons vs. My Little Pony! The big Ouija crossover event that brings together all of them!

Jem!

Clue!

Inhumanoids!

Play-Doh!

Nerf!

So they're leading the charge with the two properties that have a track record of flopping at the box office. Oh this is going to go well(!) I guess we won't be getting that MASK movie after all.
