They're making a Joker movie independent from the DCEU continuity, and now they're making a Batman movie that's also independent from every other continuity?
... but Ben Affleck apparently has one movie left in his contract? I imagine that means Justice League 2, and possibly dying or hanging up the cowl. So they'll continue making movies in the DCEU (the want to keep Gadot's WW and Robbie's Harley) while also making movies independent of that universe based on Batman characters?
