Um..."Christopher Reeves"? Is that some sort of odd amalgamation of the beloved, yet deceased Superman actor, and the director (Matt Reeves) of the upcoming Batman film??

He's a great actor. I see no issue.

Anyone who's seen anything he's been in that's not Twilight (and anyone who HATES this guy probably hasn't even seen Twilight either) knows he's a good actor. This could be good.

I hadn’t been following this closely and had no idea they had such a great cast and rogues gallery lined up. I’m not crazy about what we see of the bat suit in that video but that’s small potatoes compared to that list of actors and the characters they’ll be playing! Eagerly looking forward to this movie.

I like it. Looks a bit more home made than previous suits. The cowl looks like it's sewn leather and the emblem looks like it's a batarang or something (are those belt clips on it?). I'm curious about the ears though, are we getting little Batfleck subs or are we getting some long ears? A friend on FB lamented that he'll probably never get to see a modern live action batsuit that looks like the comics (tight fitting spandex) and not some sort of armor.

And with this movie supposedly focusing on the detective side of Batman, I wonder how many of the villains are just around to be red herrings. Is this going to skip his origin, assuming most audiences know it, ala MCU Spidey?

^I’m not one of the obsessive snyder-cut* people who’s poopooing all over this not being more bat-fleck, but I’d argue with your friend on the premise that Affleck’s original bat suit (from BvS:DoJ) is pretty much a perfect live action adaptation of a faithful comicbook look.



Although I suppose it still technically falls under the “armor” category and isn’t true spandex. But it doesn’t *look* like armor...

*i do admit I would really love to see Snyder’s version of Justice League, if it really exists.

I like it. The sewn leather look and the hint of something that looks like a collar evokes Mike Mignola's Gotham by Gaslight design.

That new Batman theme has a distinct Imperial March feel to it (though it's more a musical phrase than a theme at the moment).

I’m still hopeful for the film, but man I am not loving the designs we’ve seen. Bat suit, Batcycle, batmobile. They all look too rough and “homebrew” for my taste. I get that it’s supposed to be very early in his career but not everything has to look completely cobbled together and handmade.

Still, I’m trying very hard not to let my personal taste in something superficial like aesthetics color my opinion too much this early in the game. I keep going back to the cast list and thinking, “yeah, this should be awesome!”

Love the muscle car batmobile.
