That would be cool, I'd be ok with that, however... I was kind of hoping though that Adam Warlock (hinted at in one of the GotG 2 mid-credits scene), might make a surprise appearance and set the stage for Avengers 4, since he was an instrumental part in the Infinity War comics, but, yeah I know, this ISN'T the comics version...

So a new trailer s supposed to be released tomorrow. Those involved have said this film will basically resonate, or make connections with every film in the MCU thus far. Something nobody has mentioned (that I am aware of)...would be an interesting idea....what if Thanos uses the Time Stone to basically go back to the time period of the first Iron Man film. He gives Tony a chance to basically "live a normal life", where he would not be captured and tortured, and gets to live *happily ever after*, of course there would be no Iron Man, and possibly, no Avengers. It seems cliché, but I can see them playing out this offer, and Tony ultimately rejecting it. Seeing call backs to earlier MCU films in this film would be kind of neat IMHO, as long as not a lot of time was spent on it. Of course I've always wondered if they would go *full on* and re-release Iron Man with Don Cheadle digitally replacing Terrance Howard in all his scenes, or a new version of IH fully replacing Ed Norton with Mark Ruffalo .

On a side note, I want to see how large the orchestra is for the score for this film...How much more awesome/large can they make the Avengers theatrical theme sound.

I've heard journalists say..."Since Black panther is so popular now, I wonder if he will have a bigger part in the next film"...The problem is, we all know Infinity War was *done* before BP even came out. It is fortunate that the final 3rd of the film will take place in Wakanda, so that definitely plays in Marvels favor. But The Mouse is not dumb...they had faith BP would be something special ea rly on, and it is, and playing heavily into Infinity War, and even in marketing towards kids. The entire 5th season of the Avengers cartoon on Disney channel will be Black Panther-centric. They develop the animated series at least a year in advance. If the movie had failed, this would all be bad, but they knew it would [img]not[/img] fail...

Black Panther has been out for four weeks now and it's already sold more tickets in North America than every prior MCU entry save for The Avengers. With an estimated 63 million tickets sold, it's already the 4th-most-attended superhero movie in North American history, having just outsold Tim Burton's Batman (est. 62.9m tickets) and with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (est. 69.4m) next in its leapfrog line. Black Panther sold more tickets in its opening weekend than any other superhero movie except for The Dark Knight and both Avengers movies.

Disney would be nuts not to play up the presence of Black Panther, Wakanda and the related supporting characters in the marketing for Avengers: Infinity War at this point. Black Panther is clearly popular in America. Marvel took their sweet time getting around to making a Black Panther movie, instead bringing other heroes to the screen first like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Ant-Man and Doctor Strange, only to have Black Panther prove to be a bigger draw than any of them. I'll bet the folks at Marvel are kicking themselves for not putting Black Panther front-and-center in that money shot with all of them charging toward the camera.

In the 1990s, Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and the X-Men were the most popular superheroes in America. We're living in the age of Black Panther, Wonder Woman, Deadpool and the Guardians of the Galaxy now!

Someone pointed out that the Doctor Strange, Thor Ragnarok, and Infinity War posters are all essentially identical, just with more people on each one. If you look them up, you'll see it.

^ With the Thor: Ragnarok poster, they struck a good template for fitting a lot of disparate characters in one poster without making it too cluttered.

Since the second GOTG took place only a short time after the first film in 2014, You'd have to go back to 2014 and retcon something. Maybe they could do one of those SHIELD mini stories and address it. I think the last Blu Ray that had one of those attached was Thor: The Dark World's "Hail The King"- which focused on Slatterie's fake Mandarin persona in Prison, and teased us with the Real Mandarin... I kind of miss those little side stories, it'd be nice if they made a comeback

It's a shame that Marvel stopped making those shorts for the home video release. They could have done one for Ant-Man, I recall reading when the movie came out that they had filmed a whole segment of younger Hank Pym as Ant-Man on some mission in the past and it was cut from the movie; it would have been cool to see it as used for one of the shorts.

Just got back from an advanced screening...

Wow. Definitely a game-changer. A LOT of info to process. Not without its problems, as with any film - Marvel or otherwise - but a solid piece of entertainment. The nightmare logistic headaches alone demand a standing ovation for the Russo bros. But the fact that they also managed to craft a film that's entertaining and allows so many characters to enjoy screentime and a chance to shine (albeit too briefly in certain instances) is, quite frankly, stunning. I suspect that the next film will wrap up a lot of stories in the MCU permanently - one way or the other.

Whew. Still need time to chew on a massive feast. Will post more thoughts tomorrow. Initial gut reaction score = 8/10.

All I will say at this moment for Infinity War is that holy christ, Thanos is hands down the BEST MCU VILLAIN TO DATE!!!!!!!!!!! Well worth the 6 year wait! Oh my god was this movie "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" amazing!!!!

Amazing film, not perfect, but highly entertaining, looking forward to adding it to my collection. I cant wait to get into dicecting this film, which is something I really cant say for the past few films, even though they've mostly been solid entries. Also, as I was driving home from the theater and contemplating, I had an epiphany.......

Man...this is going to be a long thread . But anyway...lets start with something not quite so spoilery... Going back to Ragnarok for a minute. So has it been confirmed, when Surtur fulfilled his purpose by destroying Asgard, did he cease to exist? Hadn't thought about it, and the possible consequences if things hadn't been explained the way they were at the beginning of Infinity War.



Highlights for me

This was good. Definitely some problems with it (biggest ones for me being around Thor) but it’s decently paced for a movie as LONG as it is, and it definitely breaks from formula which was refreshing.


Interestingly, this kinda feels like maybe the worst job Marvel has ever done of highlighting all the characters, but they wisely focus in on their interplay and Thanos, who is really good.

This is a tough one to rate. I’m not sure it’s GREAT enough for a 4/5, but 3.5/5 feels too low.


I’ll hit it with a 4 for now and see how it ages when I catch it on Blu-ray (run time alone is prohibitive to another theatrical viewing).
