TNT has made a big hullaballoo about being the TV home for all extant Star Wars movies (after paying, I believe, $200 million for the rights?) and I ended up watching the second half of Revenge of the Sith with my Mom and sister. I ended up enjoying it far more than I thought, because of nostalgia, family togetherness, and sis opining about how the prequels were 'her childhood' so she loves 'em even though she knows they're not exactly good.

Actually, I think the secret of Star Wars is that all of the movies are meant to be watched with other people, the good movies and the bad ones. They're social movies.

I know this will probably be a no brainer for more hardcore SW fans but...with the sad passing of Carrie Fisher this morning, I was looking up a lot of cast members, and ages this morning. It kind of blows my mind that Mark Hamill was probably about a year older when he filmed his scene for The Force Awakens than Alec Guiness was when the original Star Wars was being filmed... He truly has come full circle.

I'm sure that today y'all have already said or have had said to you the fact that 'Jedi' can be singular or plural.

It's a title with plenty of interesting implications. Maybe Luke refuses to train Rey, for one reason or another. Maybe force-wielders will have a different path than just the polar jedi/sith roles in what's to come. Or maybe someone just thought it sounded cool and ominous, and the title will end up feeling as relevant as The Force Awakens.

Luke to Rey: "When I am gone, you will be The Last Jedi" (same thing Yoda told Luke, only not in "backwards" speak). Not that I want this to happen, but it seems pretty clear Luke dies in this one, and may appear as a spirit in episode IX. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I am wrong...but it seems pretty obvious IMHO.
